  1. Welcome to the world's No. 1 recognized institution for Entrepre¬neurship education, whose mission is to prepare entrepreneurial leaders to create economic and social value everywhere. The spirit of Babson is infectious. There is positive energy on campus that is both nurturing and inspiring for our students. The result is a learning environment that encourages bold thinking, measured risks, taking action, and knowing that we are all part of a particular community. Today, everyone, everywhere, is talking about entrepreneurship. The world is increasingly recognizing and valuing Entrepreneurship of All Kinds® as a powerful force for solving the economic, social, and environmental issues confronting our world. At Babson, we understand that the word entrepreneurship means much more than just starting a business. Entrepreneurial Thought & Action® can, and is, being applied everywhere from large corporations and family businesses to nonprofit organizations and social causes, and by people of all ages, ethnicities, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Babson has been at the forefront of seamlessly weaving social, economic, and environmental responsibility and sustainability into our business curriculum's fabric. At Babson, entrepreneurship of every kind begins with the triple bottom line: people, planet, and profits. Community involvement and social responsibility are not an afterthought for Babson students. They are an integral part of the entrepreneurial process from day one. Babson is the educator, convener, and thought leader for Entrepre¬neur¬ship of All Kinds®. An independent, not-for-profit institution, Babson is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, and the EFMD Quality Improvement System (EQUIS). In the 2015–2016 academic year, more than 2,100 undergraduate and 900 graduate students attend Babson, representing more than 80 countries. Learn more about the students in the first-year undergraduate class as well as the MBA and Masters's graduate programs. Babson College educates entrepreneurial leaders who create great economic and social value—everywhere. We want to be the preeminent institution in the world for Entrepreneurial Thought & Action®—and known for it. We want to expand the notion of entrepreneurship to embrace and celebrate entrepreneurs of all kinds. We want to put the power of entrepreneurship as a force for economic and social value creation in as many hands in the world as we can. Babson has been working to reduce our impact on the environment and the climate for decades, but now we are taking it up a notch. All across Babson, campus staff, students, and faculty are tackling sustainability and resource efficiency issues and working to solve these integrated challenges. In 2008, Babson became a signatory of the American College and University President's Climate Commitment, with a goal of carbon neutrality by 2050. In the summer of 2010, we opened the Babson Sustainability Office to support, enhance, and coordinate these efforts. As a business school, we are aimed at educating tomorrow's entrepreneurs and innovators. Babson is committed to integrating social and economic sustainability concepts into this next generation of leaders' business practices and creating resilient, sustainable prosperity. We invite you to explore our actions, commitments, and initiatives and share your ideas to make Babson and society more sustainable. As the educator, convener, and thought leader of global entrepreneurship, Babson strategically partners with educational institutions, foundations, nonprofits, governments, and NGOs worldwide to advance economic, social, and personal development through global entrepreneurship education. At Babson, our goal is to ensure a global perspective by enabling students to put their classroom knowledge into practice through programs that provide the opportunity to live or travel overseas and gain academic credit while completing an enriching international experience. As a global authority in entrepreneurship education, Babson College offers The Babson Collaborative for Entrepreneurship Education. This membership organization brings together educational institutions seeking to build and grow entrepreneurship education to better our world. Knowing and understanding everything you possibly can about business is not enough, at least not for a Babson graduate. In talking with business leaders worldwide, we found that they considered specific abilities vital for their employees' success. We have incorporated these abilities into our curriculum, and, as you progress through the Foundation, Intermediate, and Advanced levels, you will continually refine these skills. Babson embraces the principle that students learn and develop through their experiences across their undergraduate years, both in the classroom and throughout the community. This learning outcomes approach is focused on developing specific skills and abilities that will prepare students for their professional lives. Equally important, it aims to challenge and influence students' personal growth, understanding of themselves and their responsibility to the community, and appreciation for diverse and divergent viewpoints. Through this approach, Babson strives to create a learning and living environment that encourages students to become mature and well-rounded individuals and successful leaders in both business and the community. Quality teaching, an innovative, integrated curriculum, and faculty research are the cornerstones of Babson's academic programs and scholarly activities. Through our innovative curriculum that combines theory with practice and a wide range of co-curricular opportunities, Babson models that teaching is a two-way street. Our faculty share their experience and expertise, and students are expected to contribute their ideas and energy to every academic and research activity. With a solid liberal arts foundation and cross-disciplinary approach to functional business knowledge and entrepreneurship education, Babson College is committed to producing well-rounded leaders who can think creatively, express themselves articulately, and lead with confidence. We also combine Entrepreneurial Thought and Action and Social, Environment, Economic Responsibility, and Sustainability (SEERS) principles into our courses to ensure that our students understand the importance of creating economic and social value. By infusing an entrepreneurial mindset and social innovation into our academic programs, Babson educates leaders capable of anticipating, initiating, and managing positive change in their organizations, industries, and in the world itself. Cases are a vital component in Babson's pedagogy at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and the School for Executive Education. They provide in-depth examples of real company situations, giving students a chance to formulate 'real' management decisions. Babson provides resources to facilitate curriculum development and case writing efforts. View full university
