  1. Immanuel, a highly respected, over-subscribed, diverse, and thriving Primary school set in the heart of Streatham. Our vision – fondly known as “The Immanuel Way” - is to prepare children for life-long learning, valuing the uniqueness of every child and providing for their needs within the context of Christian values, a safe and secure environment, and a world-class curriculum. We are committed to high academic standards, high expectations, and high aspirations which drives our belief in “Excellence for all. Excellence from all.” We endeavor to nurture our children, to enable them to grow in their faith, become high academic achievers, develop enquiring minds, and take responsibility by being global citizens. Our role, in partnership with parents, is to build the foundations for a successful education, to enable each child to discover the joy of learning, to help them to fulfill every aspect of their potential, and to encourage their growth into effective citizens, ready to play their part in the world and their community. We are a school that has a sharp focus on Safeguarding and keeping our children safe. We actively promote our Christian Values and British Values throughout our curriculum. Immanuel and St Andrew Primary School have been a center of excellence as a provider of education, within the community, for over 150 years when the Victorian congregation of Immanuel Church built the school to educate the children of South Streatham. At Immanuel, we aim to prepare children for life-long learning, to value the uniqueness of every child, provide for their needs within the context of Christian values, a safe and secure environment, and a world-class curriculum. As a Church school, we are committed to high academic standards, high expectations, and high aspirations which drive our mantra “Excellence for all. Excellence from all.” We encourage and highlight the key values of Love, Respect, Perseverance, Peace, Forgiveness, Kindness, Thankfulness, Honesty, Trust, Courage, Hope, Joy, and Friendship. We encourage the children to adopt values that will leave the world a better place because of what they will be able to contribute. We endeavor to nurture our children, to enable them to grow in their faith, become high academic achievers, develop enquiring minds, and take responsibility by being global citizens. Our role, in partnership with parents, is to build the foundations for a successful education, to enable each child to discover the joy of learning, to help them to fulfill every aspect of their potential, and to encourage their growth into effective citizens, ready to play their part in the world and their community. At Immanuel, we all work together to nurture and challenge each child through our tailored provision. We have high expectations of learning and behavior and regularly celebrate achievement, collaboration and effort. Our enriching curriculum provides a broad range of inspirational learning experiences both inside and outside the classroom. We engage children in their learning through interesting and relevant topics, reinforcing the skills and qualities necessary to develop their character, sense of community, and spirituality. We encourage children to take responsibility for their learning and behavior, promoting independence through exploration, questioning, and decision-making. As members of the school community, children work collaboratively and are encouraged to take on roles and responsibilities in the classroom and across the school. They participate in a wide range of school events and activities which support their all-around development and provide them with opportunities to model our Christian Values. View full school
  2. St Andrew the Apostle Greek Orthodox School is an inclusive secondary school drawing on best practices from the independent and state sectors to meet the individual needs of the full range of students. It has been judged "outstanding" in its first Ofsted report. St Andrew the Apostle is an outstanding school where students learn and thrive in a well-ordered and happy environment. Our school is based on the Christian faith and the moral principles of the Church, but we welcome all those families who are looking for personal growth for their children, coupled with genuine academic excellence. Our expertly-delivered, broad and balanced, traditional but contemporary curriculum aims to develop our students intellectually, socially, culturally, spiritually, and morally. With a focus on English, maths, and science, we also offer classical subjects such as Latin and Greek and an exciting choice of extra-curricular activities. St Andrew the Apostle serves students of all faiths and beliefs in the 11-18 age range: and is located in Barnet within the North London Business Park (NLBP) serving families in Barnet, Enfield, Haringey, Islington, and Hertfordshire. Some students who are allocated one of the 50% of places reserved for Greek Orthodox families come from other London Boroughs as well. We are currently planning for our brand new, purpose-built school and sports facilities at NLBP, which is a very exciting prospect for staff and students alike. The school is underpinned by our Christian values and, as the UK’s first state-funded Greek Orthodox secondary school, we are proud to be making our contribution to the high academic standards and values-based education with which Church schools are associated nationally. We welcome students of all faiths and none. Our first four years have been truly exceptional and Ofsted recognized the rapid and sustained progress students have made whatever their starting point. We have also gained sporting success against schools with much larger year groups than St Andrew the Apostle. Drama and music are also particularly strong with our students singled out for praise at the Barnet Music Festival. All teachers in the school are fully UK qualified teachers. There is a strict appointment procedure which includes a lesson observation by trained Ofsted inspectors as well as a formal interview. Only good or outstanding practitioners are appointed. All students are expected to work hard and to do their very best. This ensures that everyone is an active learner and that lessons are a fun and rewarding experience. Progress is monitored half-termly and parents are kept up to date with the information that will enable them to support their child’s learning. Students are also encouraged to develop as independent learners. Homework is essential for exam success. It is compulsory for students and the work set is both appropriate and challenging. Tutors see their students daily and play a central role in everyone’s academic success, through their daily contact with their tutor group and within the cycle of personal target setting and review sessions. The school’s pastoral approach is closely linked to the Christian ethos of the school and our academic monitoring systems.
  3. Welcome to St Andrew and St Francis CE Primary School. Andrew and St Francis CE Primary School is a vibrant and exciting place of learning, as it has been in times past. We are building on the tradition of producing critical and influential thinkers who shape our world. Our Ethos and Values St. Andrew & St. Francis is a nurturing and dynamic community, rooted in Christian and British values, where children are encouraged to be the best they can be. Christian Values are Reverence, Wisdom, Humility, Service, Endurance, Trust, Compassion, Forgiveness, Peace, Thankfulness, Creation, Justice, Friendship, Koinonia, Hope. British Values are Democracy, Rule of Law, Individual liberty, Mutual respect, Tolerance of others. We will do everything we can to help every child understand the importance of these values through the way we behave towards them and each other. Each child’s educational, emotional and spiritual welfare is vitally important and we commit to doing our very best for every child. Our aim is: To develop creative, confident lifelong learners. To provide a broad-based curriculum, where all children are set challenging, yet achievable goals based on their differing needs and potential. To provide the best possible education for every child in a supportive environment where everyone learns and worships together. To celebrate and nurture the whole child through a strong partnership between the school, families, parish, and the community. To develop well-rounded, thoughtful children who share and live by positive values. We could summarise our vision with a phrase such as: "Securing Achievement for a Successful Future”. We aim to provide the foundation on which children can grow, enabling them to move on to the next stage of their lives. We aim to provide a broad and balanced skills-based creative curriculum with cross-curricular links to core subjects. This is generally thematic-based. Our Core subjects of Reading, Writing, and Mathematics follow proven programs including Daily Supported Reading, Destination Reader, and Mathematics Mastery. Our English curriculum is split into the 2 areas of Reading and Writing and is supported with a rigorous scheme of Spelling, Punctuation, and Grammar (SPAG). Reading is taught daily using Daily Supported Reading and Phonics (Letters and Sounds with Jolly Phonics) in the Early Years and Key Stage 1 and Destination Reader in Key Stage 2. Writing follows a "Text-based Literacy" approach, with texts often matching those in the Reading curriculum and with lessons providing structured support for longer writing activities on Thursdays with opportunities for up-leveling and re-drafting on Fridays. Being a Church of England school religious education is a core subject. We teach about the major religions of the world and this is complemented by exploring the common values we share within major faiths. We Believe school trips and educational visits should be viewed as powerful, positive teaching tools that help enhance the social, personal, and emotional development of all learners and bring the curriculum and learning to life.
