    St. Thomas High School is a Roman Catholic college preparatory school for young men in grades 9-12. The school was founded by three Basilian priests in the spring of 1900 to provide secondary education firmly rooted in the Catholic faith's teachings. Those three incredible priests may never have believed that now, over 100 years later, St. Thomas High School has grown from its humble beginnings in a warehouse in downtown Houston into the extraordinary monument to education and spiritual development that it is today.

    Located in nearly the geographic center of Houston, St. Thomas thrives on a lush campus at the corner of Memorial Drive and Shepherd Drive, approximately two miles west of downtown. St. Thomas prides itself on providing the most fulfilling and well-rounded high school experience from its high-tech classrooms and state-of-the-art athletic facilities to the constant celebration of its rich and storied tradition inquisitive young men during some of the most formative years of their lives.

    Our primary objective is to provide young men with the highest level of education while instilling the Catholic faith's core virtues, thereby shaping the well-rounded leaders of tomorrow. Students of St. Thomas High School enter our storied halls as boys and walk across the stage at graduation as men. In these pivotal years, our students are taught to think critically and approach everything in life with a generous spirit.

    Built upon the cornerstones of faith, knowledge, empathy, and tradition, our school is and always has been an incubator for gifted individuals who have the drive to change the world but require the guidance to do so. In this way, St. Thomas has been providing the leaders of tomorrow with the tools they need to excel in life for over 100 years, and, with God's guidance, we will continue to do so for 100 more.

    Our mission is to teaching goodness, discipline, and knowledge is the tradition of the Basilian Fathers and the sacred mission of St. Thomas, a Catholic college preparatory high school. A man of St. Thomas is a faith-filled, life-long learner who thinks critically, communicates effectively, and prepares thoroughly to excel in college and life. He actively serves his community, integrates Christian morality into all aspects of his life, and measures his success by the Gospels' standards. Our Philosophy:

    • St. Thomas High School's faculty consists of dedicated leaders whose vocation is to embody the Catholic Christian values we teach. We aim to demonstrate expertise, integrity, and enthusiasm in our various fields of study.
    • St. Thomas High School provides a robust academic curriculum that prepares students for advanced college achievement and their chosen professions. We stress a well-rounded education that fosters knowledge of and appreciation for the fine arts.
    • St. Thomas High School meets the challenges of the modern world with an extensive technological program. We guide students to the ethical use of these dynamic tools in a mobile learning environment.
    • St. Thomas High School cultivates a lively learning atmosphere conducive to the development of the whole person. We offer numerous opportunities for extra-curricular activities that build community and develop personal interests.
