At Park Tudor, we pride ourselves on upholding a tradition of academic excellence that began in 1902. Park Tudor is an independent school in Indianapolis, Indiana, for children age 3 through grade 12. We provide an individualized learning environment where children are encouraged to explore opportunities, exceed expectations, and expand possibilities. Small class sizes, a safe and caring atmosphere, and numerous extracurricular activities ensure that each child at Park Tudor receives a unique educational experience catered to their individual needs.

Our mission is to create an inspiring college-preparatory learning environment with exceptional educators and extraordinary opportunities that prepares and motivates students to become balanced, confident, and resourceful lifelong learners. Our vision is to Ignite curiosity. Instill compassion. Inspire courage. These foundational qualities guide our decisions in all areas of school life and exemplify our partnership with the community:

    • Park Tudor challenges our community to develop and practice the qualities of honesty, moral courage, and other elements of character.
    • Park Tudor provides a comprehensive and challenging academic program that inspires students and faculty through sustained engagement and helps them develop their passions and stretch themselves intellectually.
    • Park Tudor fosters persistence, imagination, problem-solving, and intellectual agility to create confident and resilient lifelong learners.
    • Park Tudor nurtures self-respect and respect for others and encourages a diverse and inclusive community with appreciation and consideration for all.
    • Park Tudor values personal accountability among all community members and challenges us to develop ethical standards in our thought processes, decision-making, and behavior.

Park Tudor's challenging private school curriculum is carefully designed to progress sequentially from early childhood through high school. Beginning in pre-k, the Hilbert Early Education Center feeds a young child's curiosity about the world through play-based learning and builds strong character. Elementary school students gather knowledge in many subjects as they build their resilience and independence. In the Middle School, students learn to take responsibility for their learning and develop self-confidence.

The college-prep courses of the Upper School challenge students to bring strong character, bright minds, big hearts, and the drive to succeed. Advanced Placement courses and unique research opportunities like the Global Scholars program allow many Park Tudor graduates to gain insight into college academics before they even arrive on campus.

At Park Tudor, extraordinary opportunities happen every day and at every grade level. Getting involved is an integral part of student life at Park Tudor. Many students are active in a combination of activities, from athletics and fine arts to special interest clubs and academic teams. 80% of Upper School students get creative in fine arts and 80% play on an athletic team. With dozens of age-appropriate activities and clubs, there are countless ways to get involved.

Students are encouraged to explore new interests and develop their passions while learning the skills that will equip them to be leaders at school and in life. The safe, inclusive environment makes it a comfortable place to learn and take risks.

Park Tudor's Learning Services provides resources to help identify each student's unique learning style and help them become self-guided lifelong learners. Park Tudor's approach is to truly get to know each student and understand their strengths and growth opportunities. With guidance from Learning Services staff, teachers can then tailor their approach to assist each child best.

Learning Services include assessment and feedback, tutoring services, instruction, and assistive technology. While not every student will require these services, every student benefits from Learning Services resources. All Park Tudor students complete learning style inventories at various points during their academic careers. For example, incoming first-year students complete the School Motivation and Learning Strategies Inventory (SMALSI), which helps students understand their strengths and weaknesses. Learning Services staff help students with study skills, memory, learning strategies, reading comprehension strategies, test-anxiety management, and assistive technology.
