Welcome to Whitehall Park School, a two-form entry, primary free school based in Islington, North London. We opened in September 2014 with our pioneering first year of children and their families and are about to welcome our fourth-year group. Whitehall Park School is a vibrant school where children are enthusiastic and motivated to achieve endless possibilities.

The children are at the heart of every decision we make to ensure that they are happy, confident and that the opportunities that are provided for them are relevant to their needs both now and in the future.

Through our engaging curriculum, we ensure that children can foster a passion for learning and curiosity that will help to develop high aspirations and a lifetime of memories. We believe in ensuring that children receive a well-rounded curriculum where individual talents can be spotted and nurtured to ensure that all children experience success and reach their full potential.

We opened in September 2014 with our pioneering first year of children and their families and have just welcomed our fourth intake of reception children to our growing school. The children, their families, and our community are at the heart of Whitehall Park, and we provide many opportunities for children and their wider families to learn, enjoy and have fun together.

Rich and varied topics taught in exciting, fun, and interesting ways enable our children to develop their interests through meaningful contexts. We encourage all aspects of our broad curriculum to be incorporated within overarching themes, which helps children to develop their creative, artistic, musical, sporting, and knowledge and understanding of the world through an immersive approach to learning. We are extremely proud of all our children and what they have achieved since our school opened.

    Whitehall Park School Vision:

    • Learn
    • Enjoy
    • Succeed

Blending the best of the independent and state sectors, we have unashamedly high expectations for every child academically, socially, and emotionally by ensuring that children, staff, and families work actively in partnership to enable all children to realize their full potential.

What we want for our children:

    • To feel safe and valued as part of a caring learning community that nurtures every child and celebrates success.
    • To be independent learners who can seek solutions creatively and co-operatively.
    • To be aspirational.
    • To be confident enough to take risks in our learning and to learn from our mistakes.
    • To experience and actively participate in a relevant, enjoyable curriculum that evolves to meet the needs of all.
    • To be polite and courteous.
    • To understand and respect diversity
    • To be aware of and recognize our learning strengths, as well as needs, and to be involved in planning future steps.
    • To thrive and become independent learners and thinkers.
    • To foster a sense of belonging within our community.

We are a Values-based school which, seeks to promote an educational philosophy based on valuing self, others, and the environment through the consideration of an ethical values vocabulary.

Values are principles that guide behavior. At Whitehall Park School all adults are encouraged to model values and to give time for reflective practices. We believe that this empowers individuals to be effective learners and good citizens. We promote and teach these values to our pupils to ensure they develop the skills to be good citizens now and in the future.

Our Ethos: Tolerance, courtesy, understanding, and compassion are hard-wired into our ethos. While our focus is on achievement during their time with us, we will never lose sight of the fact that those in our care are beginning their journey and that we are preparing the successful adults of tomorrow for whatever path they choose. Our pupils will be encouraged to understand their place in the wider community and the world, and to learn important skills such as teamwork.

By combining the best that the independent and state sectors have to offer, we will raise focus on raising standards and closing the gaps for all groups of children. Through excellent provision and our focus on high expectations for ourselves, and every child, our ambition is to quickly become an Ofsted ‘Outstanding school which parents in the surrounding area will want their children to attend.

Here at Whitehall Park, we follow a creative approach to our thematic curriculum. The topics are mapped out across the year groups from Reception classes up to Year 6 using Science as the main driver and all the other subjects are incorporated into the topic through a range of engaging and hands-on lessons.
