Wellington is a two-form entry community primary day school for girls and boys aged 3+ to 11+. All 15 classes are of mixed ability. Nursery and Reception comprise The Foundation Stage, Years 1 and 2 make up Key Stage 1 and the Infant School, Years 3 to 6 make up Key Stage 2 and the Junior School.
All teachers are fully qualified. We also have a team of associate staff including nursery nurses, teaching assistants, welfare and administrative staff, lunchtime supervisors, and cleaning staff. As well as class teachers we can call upon the services of Speech Therapists, Teaching Support Services, Educational Psychologists, language specialists, and other professionals to aid any child who needs particular help.
We are proud of our school and the strength of the community that enables us to foster and nurture all the talents of our pupils. At Wellington staff, governors, parents, and the pupils work closely together to create a learning environment that stimulates young minds, encourages their development and success, and promotes a sense of responsibility for themselves and others.
Your child’s entitlement to the National Curriculum is only part of what we aim to achieve at Wellington School. We believe in fostering children’s curiosity to create a life-long love of learning. We also aim to promote creativity and provide a wealth of opportunities for expressive young minds. We emphasize the importance of social and personal growth and strive to ensure that our children are happy, healthy, and responsible members of our community.
We are fortunate in having dedicated staff who give their time generously to ensure that your child’s years with us are enjoyable, stimulating, and successful. We pride ourselves on our reputation for meeting all children’s needs: the strength and success of our support for children with Special Educational Needs and our programs for higher ability and particularly gifted children. All are welcome at Wellington School.
