With a history dating back to 1907, Villiers is a school with one foot in the past but both eyes firmly on the future. We provide a nurturing environment, strong pastoral care, and excellent learning, both in and out of the classroom which enables students to leave Villiers with the right qualifications, skills, and qualities to be highly successful in their future careers and adult lives. It is an 11-19 co-educational.
school with students from a variety of religions, faiths, and countries. They work, play, and flourish together in our encouraging and supportive learning community, developing understanding and respect for each other. All visitors to the school comment on the warmth of welcome, harmonious atmosphere around the school, and positive attitudes of our students.
We have grown in size and popularity over the last few years, a reflection of our fantastic achievements. Currently, we have over 1100 pupils and nearly 120 teaching and ancillary staff. This means that whilst we are small enough to retain a friendly atmosphere and know everyone’s face, the school is large enough to offer a full range of academic and vocational subjects taught by specialist teachers.
The school also has a rapidly improving Sixth Form with students taking a variety of Advanced Level and BTEC courses. Academically, we establish good working habits in an environment that is wholly conducive to learning and study. Our results have been improving year on year and our progress data has put our performance in the top quartile of all schools around the country. This demonstrates that we are bringing about effective learning whilst maintaining concern for the individual. Although we take great pride in our high achievers, we are particularly proud that all of our students leave with sound qualifications on which to build their future.
