Star Primary School is a vibrant three-form primary school situated in the London Borough of Newham, catering to children between the ages of three and eleven.
We have places for around 700 children, with a maximum of 30 children per class. Our children come from a wide variety of nationalities and backgrounds and everybody is valued as part of our welcoming learning community.

Our staff is committed to our inspiring and creative curriculum, which offers languages, sports, and the creative arts. Children will have the opportunity to encounter Shakespeare, explore journalism, and learn about different world cultures. The teaching of a foreign language is a key focus of the school with children taking part in six different Language Days throughout the school year. Fundamentally, we aim to develop children’s competence and abilities in the basic skills of Reading, Writing, and Numeracy because these are the building blocks of all other learning. We are also striving to further develop the Holistic Curriculum, focussing more on outdoor learning, teamwork, developing self-esteem, and looking after our children’s emotional well-being.
Star Primary’s curriculum aims to instill a love of reading, stimulate the imagination and enable the children to achieve their very best. From Nursery to Year 6 we are proud of our broad, creative curriculum and wide-ranging extra-curricular activities.
Our school curriculum is ‘skills based’ but is taught to the children through a variety of creative themes so learning is fun, but also challenges pupils and ensures that achievement is high. As a whole school, we share curriculum themes, such as the River Thames, Journalism, and Discovery. We believe in the power of stories to help children grow and develop as people and as learners, and in all year groups, children begin their learning each term through a storybook. The arts and Sports are very important to us and we employ specialist teachers for Music, Languages, and Sport.
