At St Mary's Primary Academy we work together to create excellence within a democratic British society. We encourage children to achieve their full potential in terms of academic attainment and personal, spiritual, and moral development. We aim to achieve this within a Christian ethos, which encourages respect for and understanding of different faiths and cultures.
St Mary’s School serves a varied and interesting neighborhood with the pupils and their families representing a rich diversity of cultures, beliefs, and languages. The school draws upon its many cultural groups to enrich the curriculum. The school is firmly committed to equality of opportunity and this is apparent in all aspects of life within it.
St Mary’s School is a church school by the foundation and is a converter academy. Its governors include representatives of the parish, the Diocese, parents, teachers, and the local community. The pleasant and attractive school site comprises a two-story main building which includes a nursery class and four mobile classrooms. Altogether the site accommodates twelve classes of infants and junior pupils and a fifty-two place part-time nursery class.
The school encourages a good rapport with parents, governors, the local community, and neighboring schools. Parents are welcome into school and are asked to take an active part in their child’s learning and celebrate their achievements. Over the years we have supported several other primary schools with Leadership and Management support. We have supported schools outside of Birmingham Local Authority such as two schools in Bristol. In addition to this, we have supported schools within the Birmingham Local Authority.
