We became an Arts College in 2004 a leading Edge School after being assessed by the DFES as a high-performing school in 2012 and a Teaching school in 2013.
Inspired by the example of St John Bosco, the purpose of our College is to react to the needs of each student, touching their hearts and developing their talents and creative skills.

Our KS3 Curriculum aims to “Inspire and Engage”. At St John Bosco Arts College we believe that all our students are special, have individual talents, and can achieve success.
At Key Stage 3 (Years 7 to 9), we offer a broad and balanced curriculum that aims to offer every child the opportunity to maximize their potential. In so doing the curriculum at St John Bosco Arts College follows the requirements of the National Curriculum (2014) but also offers bespoke provision with an emphasis upon the arts.
The Key Stage 3 Programmes of Study and Curriculum are set out by the National Curriculum but at St John Bosco Arts College we aim to develop personalized learning programs for individual students in response to specific needs and ability.
A key emphasis of the Key Stage 4 curriculum is to support the academic and personal development of each student and to ensure that they are equipped to move eventually into the world of work.
In Years 10 and 11 all students will study National Curriculum subjects. A range of subject qualifications is available at GCSE and BTEC – level 2. Students are placed in sets according to their abilities in English, Maths and Science, and RE. A range of curriculum choices is available for students.
The sixth form at St John Bosco Arts College is an exciting place to learn, achieve and succeed. Our expert and dedicated sixth form team offer students individual time and support to ensure that all students reach their full potential.
We are proud of our rich and varied curriculum, with a wide variety of subjects and courses on offer. Students can choose from A-Levels and Applied General courses. We also offer GCSE English and Maths for those students who have not achieved a grade 4 in either of these subjects on entry.
Our Programmes of Study ensure all learners have an appropriate pathway to achieve their full potential and progress on to their chosen career. Every student will have the opportunity to undertake work experience and receive independent CEIAG pertinent to their chosen pathway. All students will undertake tutorial sessions to enhance their employability skills and make them more resilient and independent, learners.
Our outstanding and bespoke enrichment program offers opportunities to get involved in a variety of cultural, sporting and charity events, alongside gaining additional qualifications and accreditation for the pathway followed.
Our sixth form offers unique educational opportunities enabling all students to develop their skills and qualities, as well as flourish academically. Students are taught in an atmosphere of mutual respect and become an integral members of our valued community. We are passionate about success and providing our students with the aspirations and opportunities to maximize their potential.
