At St. Andrew’s our aim is to create an environment, which reflects Christian beliefs and promotes successful teaching and learning. This is a mixed voluntary-aided school, which has a one-form entry (30 children) and caters to children throughout the Primary age range (5-11).
St. Andrew’s is rightly proud of its heritage and has been serving the children and families of Uxbridge since 1869. Right from the very beginning, the school has had a Christian foundation, as a Church of England School, and this faith in God is still a central and vibrant aspect of the character of the school. Christian values underpin the whole ethos of the school, belief in the God-given potential of every child inspires all we do, and joyful worship helps to create a united, loving, and confident community. With this foundation of faith, we seek to serve the local community by offering high-quality education to all our pupils.

At St. Andrew’s we implement a policy that will enable all children to reach their full potential through the efficient identification of educational, behavioral, and physical strengths and weaknesses. The progress of all children is assessed and tracked at regular intervals. If it is identified that a child is not making the expected progress or requires additional support we work closely with parents to find solutions and enable learning. The positive involvement of all parties is crucial to the success of such pupils. At times it is deemed necessary to involve outside agencies such as the London Borough of Hillingdon Educational Psychology Service. Parents are fully consulted if this occurs.
At St Andrew’s we value the diverse ethnic backgrounds of all pupils and families and undertake a variety of events and lessons to celebrate these. We have found this approach to be enriching for all parties as it teaches tolerance and respect for the differences in our community and the wider world. Underpinning all of this are a range of curriculum topics that have strong links to the British Commonwealth. This statement outlines the key British values we actively promote.
Our school vision and ethos revolve around Core Christian Values, reflected in our weekly assembly themes. We promote respect for others and this is reiterated through our classroom rules. Our PSHE curriculum embodies the values of mutual respect and we actively promote an attitude of equality and fairness through PE and Games lessons. Our older pupils promote mutual respect by working with other, younger pupils across the school during lessons and also lunchtimes.
