With the welcoming of boys into our Senior School in September 2019, we became Loughborough’s only co-educational independent school for children aged 4-18 years, thereby offering a unique and much-needed educational route to local families.
We are a non-selective school, dedicated to creating an environment where every pupil has the opportunity for long-term academic, spiritual, and moral development within a challenging but happy environment.
We encourage and challenge every pupil to become the very best version of themselves and aim to help parents in their task of nurturing confident, compassionate, and happy young people.

Our Aims
To achieve that we commit to:
- A challenging knowledge-rich curriculum that sets high expectations for all learners
- Genuinely personal service to every family and individual understanding of each pupil in our care. No class is ever larger than 20 pupils and our overall teacher to pupil ratio is an incredible 1 to 7.6

- A flexible curriculum and the ability to cater for a range of abilities that more selective schools, or larger non-selective schools, cannot always match
At Loughborough Amherst School we are proud of being a Catholic School but we do not seek to impose any doctrinal beliefs on any member of our community. The School contains Anglicans, Methodists, Muslims, Hindus, and Buddhists, as well as pupils whose home life is entirely secular. We welcome all those who embrace the virtues of hard work, humility, compassion, service, and respect for others.
