Ysgol Llanybydder is a Welsh primary school in the rural village of Llanybydder. The school provides education for pupils between 3-11 years. It gives me great pleasure to present to you, via this prospectus, some information about Ysgol Llanybydder. The purpose of the information is to enable you to have an understanding of the life and ethos of the school. It is our aim that we, as a school, provide a caring environment for your child. We endeavor to ensure that all children have access to a wide range of learning opportunities, to enable them to grow into independent and responsible adults.
Here at Ysgol Llanybydder, we recognize that a productive home /school relationship is vital, to foster a sense of partnership between parents and teachers and to ensure the best possible learning environment for your child. Consequently, we endeavor at all times to achieve this. Ysgol Llanybydder is a happy school, and this stems from the opportunities that are afforded to all. Participation and success in many endeavors, enables pupils, parents, staff, governors, the community, and the Local Education Authority to be justifiably proud of their association with the school.
The school is situated about half a mile from the center of the village on Llansawel Road. Our pupils are fortunate in having all the advantages of a large, safe, and secure outdoor learning and play area. The school was built in 1975. The school grounds include an extensive grassed area where sports and games activities are regularly held. Part of the front grounds has been turned into a school garden.
Vegetables, bulbs, and herbs have been planted and the children maintain these. The younger children have their separate playground where they can play on the climbing frame and with tricycles and large toys. The outside play area is securely fenced on all sides. Access to the school is restricted to the front entrance door, which has a security system in operation. Particular care is needed in parking safely alongside the pavement, to ensure that children are not put at risk of a serious accident. For safety reasons only staff, disabled drivers, and contractors are allowed to drive on the school grounds
