Llanfoist Fawr is a state-of-the-art Primary School situated in the village of Llanfoist, near Abergavenny. We are on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, a short walk from the Brecon and Monmouthshire canal at the foot of the Blorenge mountain.
Our school is sited at the base of the Blorenge mountain on the outskirts of the historic market town of Abergavenny. At Llanfoist Fawr Primary School we believe that the primary phase of education is one of the most important in a child’s learning journey and at the center of their future development. It is a time when we aim to nurture in children a lifelong love of learning. In leading children on this journey, we pride ourselves on making the route fun, exciting and enjoyable.
All involved at Llanfoist, work very hard to make our school a happy and creative place for the children to flourish and grow. The school is known in Abergavenny for its warm friendly atmosphere where children feel valued and secure.
We strive to attain high educational standards. In the Foundation Phase, we deliver experiential learning, this skills-based approach is extended into Key Stage 2 provision. We treat all our children as individuals. Additional support is provided for those who benefit from extra help as well as those who are more able. Our approach to education is to equip children for their next step of learning and life in the 21st Century.
We recognize that the partnership between home and school is a crucial one and appreciate that the parents, carers, and community in Llanfoist work together with us. We support children so that they will grow into valuable and proactive citizens of Llanfoist and the wider community.
