Lister Infant School is a community-maintained school situated in the Tuebrook area of Liverpool. We are an inclusive school and are committed to ensuring that every child receives an education that allows them to achieve their full potential.
We have developed an exciting and challenging curriculum that is presented interestingly and imaginatively. It offers many opportunities for first-hand experience, practical work, investigation, and learning through play and is enlivened and enriched.
We have high expectations for all at Lister Infant School and encourage everyone to set high standards for themselves and others. We are very proud that our children achieve excellent results and know that this is based on a strong working partnership between school, children, parents/carers, and the wider community.

The Early Years Foundation stage is organized in seven areas of learning. Three prime areas of Communication and Language, Physical Development and Personal, Social and Emotional Development. Four specific areas of Literacy, Maths, Understanding the World and Expressive Arts and Design.
Learning for young children is a rewarding and enjoyable experience in which they explore, investigate, create, discover, practice, and consolidate their learning, skills, understanding, and attitudes. During the Early Years Foundation Stage, many of these aspects are brought together effectively through playing, talking, exploring, and practicing their skills.
This is a vital part of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum. Some experiences are planned to take place outside in the Foundation Stage play areas to gain the most out of our extensive and varied learning environment.

At Lister Infants, we believe our school values, our mission statement, our school motto, as well our enriching curriculum and extra-curricular activities, fully support these fundamental British values. All these values are explored in a range of individual, class, year group, or whole school level and are enhanced by the whole school, local, national and international agenda and events.
Our school motto- Respect for all. Learners for life is the motivation behind our school and what makes our school unique. It is our core belief that entwines and leads the curriculum at our school. Pupils discuss what ‘respect’ means and how it is shown. Posters around the school promote respect for others and this is reiterated through our classroom and learning rules, as well as our behavior policy.
