King's Hall is an independent co-educational boarding and day prep school in Taunton, Somerset with over 320 pupils aged 2-13 years. Part of King’s Schools, Taunton, along with our senior school, King's College, we provide inspirational teaching, superb facilities, and our nurturing of individual potential combines to create an environment in which young people achieve great things.
We are a leading Pre-Prep and Prep school for girls and boys aged 2-13, with around 320 pupils. Set in a beautiful countryside location surrounded by farmland, the school is only a couple of minutes' drive from the center of Taunton.
We respect traditional values and boarding is a strong feature, which contributes to the real family atmosphere that exists within the school. Children enjoy a challenging all-around education in a progressive and stimulating environment.

King's Hall School benefits from a tiered seating Arts Centre specialist Art and Design Technology rooms fully equipped Science Faculty 10 tennis courts (including 6 Astro courts) specialist libraries in both Prep and Pre-Prep individual music practice rooms dedicated Sports Hall heated outdoor swimming pool IT suite equipped with 50 networked computers and interactive whiteboards, and 50 acres of sports fields and woodlands.
Pre-Prep children have access to their playing field, terraced playgrounds, and an enclosed area of woodland known as 'Little Wood'. A much larger area of woodland is also used for our Forest School sessions and is known as 'Big Wood'. Pre-Prep also has a fantastic Nursery, including a room just for 2-year-olds.
More recently, pupils from across the school benefit from a brand new Adventure Playground which boasts impressive apparatus including a lookout tower, swings, and traversing ropes.
Benefits Each year we have an impressive number of children who gain scholarships in the disciplines of Academia, Sport, Music, Drama, Art, and Design Technology, and this is assisted hugely by the quality of our facilities. Excellent boarding facilities are also offered, with full-time and weekly boarders sharing accommodation, all of which has been recently refurbished.
