Jordanhill is a vibrant and busy school throughout the session. We will keep you informed about the exciting learning experiences that will take place as the session progresses. We are continuing to develop our Curriculum and approaches to learning and teaching through promoting skills for learning, life, and work.
Children are issued with regular homework assignments and we would appreciate it if you could sign your child’s homework diary or work as requested by your child’s teacher. This helps to maintain a regular home/school link which is so valuable. Remember that if you have any questions about your child’s learning, the homework that has been set, or any other issues, you can contact the school to make an appointment to see the class teacher or a member of the management team.
Teaching facilities and resources are excellent. The south campus houses Art, Languages, Mathematics, Social Subjects, and a large atrium public space. It provides a wonderful learning environment and was short-listed for the RIBA Awards in 2009. The adjacent practical buildings house Science, Home Economics, and Design & Technology. The Primary and remaining Secondary departments are located in the ‘B’ listed north building which has been extensively modernized and upgraded. The entrance foyer, hall, and other public spaces have likewise been completely refurbished. In 2009 the School created new Science facilities in the space vacated by the Art department and a new suite of music rehearsal rooms. The games hall on Anniesland Road was purchased in 2005 with support from Sportscotland. All the facilities of Jordanhill School are available for public use.
