Heathrow Primary School is in the South of Hillingdon Borough. We are an inclusive community school that recognizes and celebrates the diversity and the backgrounds of all of our pupils and their families.
At Heathrow Primary we aim to continually strive to provide the best possible education for all children, equipping them with life-long learning skills ready to face the ever-changing world around them. Our engaging, challenging and creative curriculum and exciting learning environments drive this aim, resulting in our children’s love of learning are well established and developed.
We have high expectations of the children, parents, and ourselves and this has helped create a learning community where all involved can develop their skills and strive to achieve well. We are passionate about our broad curriculum and there is a strong emphasis on physical education and school sport, music, and the arts.
At Heathrow Primary School, our mission is to provide a safe, happy, caring, and inclusive environment in which all pupils can realize their full potential and aspire to the high academic and social expectations that we have for them.
We will provide an atmosphere where all are valued, respected, and are encouraged to make a positive difference to the lives of those around us and to the world in which we live.
We will provide opportunities for our pupils to develop their knowledge, skills, and practical abilities by meeting individual needs. We are a school proud of our traditional values, encouraged through a commitment to equal opportunities for all, a strong community spirit, and a true sense of belonging.
We value the contribution that Governors, parents, and the local community play in supporting our vision, and, in partnership together, we will enable our pupils to become the best citizens that they can be in this ever-changing and challenging world.
At Heathrow Primary School we provide children with a broad and exciting curriculum. We believe that children learn best when they have a clear purpose for learning and when lessons are engaging. As a result, we have a themed approach to learning. Each term, children are introduced to a new ‘theme’ that encompasses a wide range of skills, subject areas, and cross-curricular activities. This approach to learning enables children to fully immerse themselves into a topic that instantly captures their imagination and attention, whilst having the opportunity to draw upon skills from a variety of curriculum areas. Our curriculum allows for additional opportunities for children to use their fundamental key skills in Maths, Reading, and Writing.
Children are encouraged to play an active role in their learning journey by exploring possibilities and opportunities and by asking questions that extend their knowledge and understanding. Children are encouraged to think independently and work with partners and groups in all curriculum areas to promote the positive use of communication skills. We aim to give our children a full and clear insight into what being British is all about, to celebrate British culture and heritage, and to give a clear insight into 21st Century Britain so that all children are fully prepared for their life-long journey of learning and understanding. Furthermore, as a culturally diverse school, our children are well equipped with the suitable knowledge, behaviors, and attitudes that allow them to live harmoniously in a multi-cultural society.
