Welcome to Four Oaks Primary School. Four Oaks offers an exciting curriculum with unique opportunities for children aged 1 to 11 years old. Our knowledgeable and enthusiastic teaching team inspires children through a curriculum that develops the whole child. We pride ourselves on offering our children high quality, different opportunities that they might not experience in other schools. Four Oaks was built in 2012 and was awarded the prestigious architects SCALA award for its stunning indoor and outdoor learning environment.

We must prepare our children for life in modern Britain and to keep them safe.
At Four Oaks we uphold and teach pupils about British Values which are defined as:

- Tolerance of Those of Different Faiths and Beliefs
These values are taught explicitly through PSHE/SEAL and R.E. We also teach British Values through planning and delivering a broad and balanced curriculum. During our collective acts of worship and whole school assemblies, we reinforce and celebrate British values.
As a school, we educate and provide boundaries for young pupils to make choices safely, through the provision of a safe environment and empowering education. Pupils are encouraged to work independently. In PSHE and Computing lessons they learn how to keep themselves safe within a supportive environment. Pupils have a wide range of Extra-Curricular activities to choose from. Our lunchtime menu is published and includes hot and cold options and children make healthy choices.
We encourage good manners as the basis of good behavior. Pupils and all staff are polite to each other. Children learn that their behavior can affect the feelings of others. Year 6 has the motto “Treat people as you would wish to be treated”. During SEAL assemblies children display their work and explain their learning. Art and Dance from different cultures widen our children’s experiences. The school also has good relationships with sports coaches and young coaches from the local high school. Good sporting attitudes are modeled and expected from coaches and players. Pupils from our specialist Speech and Language classes are valued and are an integral part of our school. There is plenty of opportunities to work alongside visitors and local community groups in the school such as in the Art Club and Football.
Phase One falls largely within the Communication, Language, and Literacy area of learning in the Early Years Foundation Stage. In particular, it will support linking sounds and letters in the order in which they occur in words, and naming and sounding the letters of the alphabet. It also draws on and promotes other areas of learning described in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), particularly Personal, Social and Emotional Development and Creative Development, where, for example, music plays a key part in developing children’s language. Phase One contributes to the provision for Communication, Language, and Literacy it does not constitute the whole language provision.
A rich and varied environment will support children’s language learning through Phase One and beyond. Indoor and outdoor spaces should be well planned so that they can be used flexibly. For each aspect in Phase One, some photographs and captions illustrate how the learning environment can be designed to encourage children to explore and apply the knowledge and skills to which they have been introduced through the activities.
