In return, the staff is privileged to work with children who are at once diverse, yet united by their determination to live their school lives to the full. Across the school learning behavior is excellent, standards are high and aspirations even higher. For pupils, parents, and staff members alike, Darrick Wood Junior School is a wonderful place to learn and work. In April 2016 the school was granted academy status as part of the South Orpington Learning Alliance Multi-Academy Trust (SOLA). This trust has brought together six local schools with the ultimate goal of working together to improve outcomes for children in each of our schools individually and, therefore, across all of the schools as a whole. This moral purpose which lies at the heart of SOLA's vision resonates perfectly with Darrick Wood Junior's school vision and my philosophy of education.
