Within our academy, everyone is actively encouraged to make choices, knowing that they are in a safe and supportive environment. As a school, we try and help our young people learn about how to make choices and what makes a good choice. Young people are encouraged to express their views and we respond to their preferences and interests throughout our teaching, by using ‘motivators and incentives’ highlighted in our Curriculum policy.
A key theme in our teaching is understanding the world around us, and this includes providing experiences relating to different faiths, beliefs, and cultures. We have strong links with the Ladywood Interfaith Project (LIP) which allows our pupils to make visits to a variety of different places of worship within our local community. We also welcome multi-faith external visitors from LIP into the school to participate in celebrations and acts of collective worship.
