We are a registered child care facility and provide the following childcare: Nursery Plus, After School Club, and Holiday Club We welcome you and look forward to developing a warm and happy relationship with you as parents and trust that your child will have a happy and fruitful years at the after school club. Due to the large size of the school, a high standard of accommodation and our excellent resources we have to enable us to offer all pupils a wide range of opportunities to enjoy after school.
We firmly believe that all children are of equal value, both as students and members of the school community It is important to ensure that a balance is kept in the development of personal attributes in children such as self-discipline, loyalty, involvement in a team, and respect for others. These goals can best be realized when pupils and parents work together for the common good. May I emphasize that you as parents are always welcome to visit the after-school club to discuss any aspect of its running?
We are in the third year of being a Lead Creative School, funded by the Welsh Government. This year the work focuses on supporting other schools in becoming more creative as well as further developing creativity across our school. All the teaching staff in school have had training on the creative approach to teaching and everyone is looking forward to giving the children the opportunity to develop their creative skills.
The Pupil Voice Council continues to develop. Children have the opportunity to plan ideas and activities for their topic every two weeks. Where possible and when suitable these ideas are then added to the teacher’s plans. Within the context of these guidelines, electronic communication incorporates all use of electronic links – electronic mail, conferencing, newsgroups, social networking, file transfer plus access to Intranets and the Internet - as well as remote access of school systems as part of service provision by the ICT Unit. Flintshire Education Authority believes that the educational benefits of using electronic communications far outweigh the possible risks and that good planning and management will ensure appropriate and effective pupil and staff use in all its schools.
