Bobby Moore Academy is a superb school in the heart of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, which opened to Year 7 students in September 2017. Bobby Moore Academy is an all-through Free School that will raise aspirations and offer an outstanding education for the students of Newham and Tower Hamlets.
This is a brand new school, that will be housed in two multi-million pound state-of-the-art buildings in the shadow of the former Olympic Stadium.
The secondary site will eventually educate young people from 11-18 on Stadium Island. A primary school will sit alongside, overlooking the canal, that will educate, engage and inspire over 400 children.
The primary school, which will overlook the canal, will welcome Reception children in September 2018, and will eventually educate 400 children from the age of four through to 11 years of age.
We will build on the diverse background of every young person and member of the community by delivering academic excellence and enrichment opportunities that will be the envy of other schools and academies.
Through our sponsor, the David Ross Foundation, our students will be able to compete in front of Olympians, access outward bound opportunities in some of the most amazing environments, perform in professional operas, and have masterclasses from leading artists and musicians.
Such opportunities, combined with our strong academic ethos, will enable every child to flourish and achieve more than they ever thought possible. The location of our stunning new buildings, adjacent to the Olympic Stadium, gives us the unique opportunity to deliver enviable experiences for our students. Bobby Moore Academy's incredible location means that our students have access to several incredible sporting facilities within Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, including the London Marathon Community Track.

The David Ross Education Trust (DRET), of which the Bobby Moore Academy will be part, has a passionate belief that by offering young people an outstanding range of opportunities they will discover what they can excel at and thus transform their life chances.

We aim to be the first-choice school for the pupils and students who live in the local catchment area. Bobby Moore Academy will offer an exciting and inclusive curriculum that meets the interests and needs of all pupils and students to enable them to achieve their potential.
The sport will be the heartbeat of the academy and will be used to develop and grow our students in mind, body, and spirit. The academy will become a hub for local sports participation, and a center of sporting excellence, delivering a true sporting legacy to the young people in the area.
We commit to getting to know every one of our pupils and their families before they start with us. This will be achieved through visiting the pupils in their current school, inviting them and their families to open evenings and tours of the school, and liaising closely with their current place of education.
All pupils will have a caring tutor within a house system to foster a culture of mutual respect and teamwork. Pupils will develop a sense of ownership, responsibility, and pride in their school and their community and as part of this, all of our pupils will be given their first school uniform by the Trust.
We will be ambitious for all our young people and support them wholeheartedly on their path through to university and employment. Whilst we are very proud of the many young people who go on to top universities to continue their education, we also offer scholarships in sport, music, and drama to ensure that the costs of expert coaching/tuition, competition and travel expenses, kit, and materials can be met by all families who need this support.
