Al-Falah Primary School, a registered charity, is an independent school that provides full-time education for boys and girls of the Islamic faith. Al-Falah is a co-educational primary school providing education for years 1-6. We accept eighteen admissions each year into our Year 1 class on a first come first serve basis however, siblings are given priority. Admissions are also taken into other years providing a place is available. Unfortunately, if we are unable to offer your child/children a place within the school your child/children will be placed on our waiting list. You will therefore be contacted on a place becoming available.
Criteria for admission is dependent on a previous school report and successfully passing an admission test upon being offered a place at the school.
We guide and support their development of an ethical awareness that they can apply in their daily lives, to help them make a valuable contribution to society. All our members of staff are dedicated to inspiring our pupils to fulfill their potential in all areas – interpersonal, academic, physical, spiritual, and moral. We achieve this by promoting team spirit and facilitating personalized learning, tailored to each pupil’s individual needs. All pupils are encouraged to support each other, celebrate success, and take pride in their progress in our friendly learning environment, which offers an excellent balance between National Curriculum subjects and Islamic studies.
Our main aim at Al-Falah is for our pupils to draw on both the Islamic curriculum and the National Curriculum to equip themselves to be morally responsible citizens who benefit from their education and contribute positively to society as respectful citizens and good ambassadors for the Islamic faith.
At Al-Falah the day is split into two parts, providing a balance between the National Curriculum and Islamic Studies, and giving equal significance to both. The school endeavors to provide education of both breadth and depth within a disciplined, happy and supportive environment. Pupils are encouraged to be ambitious and creative in their studies and activities. Al-Falah Primary School encourages its pupils to achieve the very best and recognizes and celebrates both good results and effort.
Al-Falah aims to ensure that children are educated in an Islamic atmosphere that not only safeguards their iman (faith) but also strengthens it at such a crucial age. Our goal is to help every child to learn and acquire Islamic knowledge alongside building a solid foundation in all National Curriculum subjects. This will help them develop and gain true Islamic values and thereby make a correct moral and social contribution to the society they live in.
Al-Falah School aspires to deliver a challenging and unique curriculum, which fosters creativity, keenness for learning whilst encouraging children to appreciate and care for the world in which we live. None of our classes has more than 20 pupils. Our high teacher-pupil ratio means that our pupils have extra attention, boosting their achievement. The classroom environment is strikingly different from that of other schools due to the small numbers. The classes are fitted with overhead projectors and are connected to the internet. Children have access to all their books and stationery needs.
Al-Falah is continuously updating its resources to allow children to make the most of their learning. Our art and design facilities permit children to express their creative talent that has included creating art pieces for The Hackney Museum.
Al-Falah has a library that contains novels of many genres, reference books, and poetry books. Pupils can use the library for their pleasure or as a learning resource. Al-Falah has a dedicated ICT room that has safe access to the internet. Children use the room for their weekly ICT lessons and cross-curricular activities. Work pupils have created ranges from posters to 3D modeling. We have a soft matted playground at the rear of the school, allowing children to enjoy their playtimes and P.E. lessons. Al-Falah is also within walking distance of local parks and libraries.
Each subject area is well planned and monitored to ensure progression and continuity of learning for all pupils across the school. How and what your child is taught will be communicated to you by class teachers in a meeting at the beginning and the end of the school year and via a termly curriculum overview. Each area of the curriculum has a policy document and these are available to all parents on request.
The teaching and learning for the other Key Stages consist of 11 subjects that make up the National Curriculum. These are: English, Mathematics, Science, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Design & Technology, History, Geography, Art, Physical Education MFL – Arabic and Islamic Studies contain including ( PHSE) And Islamic studies consist of Reading and reciting Quran with Tajweed, Akhlaq and Aqa’id (PHSE) and memorizing Quran. We believe Al-Falah is one of the best schools in London where children receive the best teaching in both the Islamic Curriculum and National Curriculum.
Al-Falah opened in 2001 as a school for boys only and moved to its current premises in February 2004. In 2005 the school came under new management and extended its provision to cater for girls’ as well as boys’ education. At this time there were only about thirty students on a roll but the school has striven successfully to extend its provision and we are now able to meet the educational needs of up to one hundred pupils at Al-Falah.
