Located in Alice Springs, Outback Australia, St Philip's is a Uniting Church co-educational Boarding and Day School for students in Years 7 - 12. With strong academic excellence and a widely accredited Outdoor Education and Performing Arts program, St Philip's College provides opportunities for your child to develop their individuality, strengthen leadership skills and create a well-rounded individual, prepared for life after school. This website has been developed to inform you about life at St Philip's College and all that it offers.
During its history, St Philip's College has developed a reputation for academic excellence, a long-established tradition linked to the Uniting Church, and a co-curricular program based on Kurt Hahn's philosophy, which includes a nationally recognized Outdoor Education program, commitment to the International Round Square organization and a substantial Community Service program. Also, St Philip's College takes great pride in offering a quality Arts program. These programs demonstrate our endeavor to provide the best all-round education for our students by fully supporting them in their emotional, physical, intellectual, spiritual, and social development. Our aspiration is for St Philip's College students to 'To strive, seek, and care.' We look beyond the ordinary to achieve the extraordinary.
In encouraging our students to realize their full potential, we place a significant emphasis on a creative and innovative teaching and learning environment, both within and outside the classroom. We encourage perseverance, tolerance, and dignity to enhance interpersonal communication skills and promote an outward-looking growth mindset. Our students are ready to make a positive contribution to the world they live in.
In 1945 the Reverend Harry Griffiths, who worked for the Methodist Inland Mission in Alice Springs, saw the need for a boarding facility for children of families living in remote areas in Central Australia who needed access to schools.
