As a teacher, I have had the privilege of working with young people to develop their skills in English or their love of literature and serve and engage them and support their growth as individuals and as citizens.
This is a fantastic time to be working with young people in education as we reframe schools' experience in response to a rapidly changing world. The story of the foundation of Cornish College in 2012 is a community effort, persistence, courage, and vision. Today, this school thrives because of the community's deep belief in our educational philosophy of preparing students for life.
Our students are learning about how they can make a difference today and as adults. Our vision of sustainable living is all-encompassing and includes personal, socio-cultural, urban/technological, and environmental dimensions. This is a vibrant school community with a commitment to excellence in teaching and learning. We recognize the importance of academic rigor, creativity, and developing strong foundation skills for learning.
The Cornish College educational philosophy is based around a vision for the whole community of the sustainable living. Cornish College's core values are respect, compassion, integrity, and creativity. The College strives to encourage creativity and develop thinking skills. It emphasizes building a foundation of skills for learning through structured inquiry and a differentiated curriculum to cater to different learning styles. Children and staff work together to collaborate in a team structure.
The Plan is based on a clear Vision and Mission and supports the College values of respect, compassion, integrity, and creativity and its motto Make a Difference. It has six Strategic Pillars, with clear aims and actions to help Cornish College deliver its educational philosophy.
