Job Description Summary: Position works as pharmacy support personnel. Hours are 230pm-11pm, 3 days per week that includes every other weekend. Responsible for safe, timely and accurate transport and delivery of medications. Adheres to all information privacy and security policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines. Promptly reports information security incidents to the OhioHealth Information Security Officer. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES 30% Care of Patients Ensures safe, timely and accurate transport of medications to the proper destination. Responds to and prioritizes all transport requests appropriately. Utilizes proper body mechanics when lifting and transferring medications and other supplies. Utilizes software programs, devices or processes to accurately document delivery processes and for problem-solving medication location questions or issues. Stocks and/or returns medications to proper inventory location. 30% Customer Service Reports to work on time and begins job duties immediately. Meets and maintains attendance standards in accordance with current fair scheduling guidelines Complies with system, hospital and department policies and procedures. Provides prompt and courteous telephone response. Shows willingness to assist co-workers with completion of tasks and work scheduling arrangements. Provides prompt and timely response to task assignments. Follows all state and federal laws and regulatory requirements for storage, security, disposal and recordkeeping of drugs. 15% Information Management Effectively operates pharmacy information and other automated systems. Reports problems related to operation of computers, printers, and other electronic equipment in the department to the appropriate personnel when needed. Communicates promptly any problems and attempts to resolve with fellow associates in a professional manner. Reports all unresolved issues to the appropriate supervisor. Follows all proper channels of communication Processes all assigned reports and information tasks in a timely and accurate manner. 15% Improving Performance Supports and/or participates in organizational performance to continuously improve patient outcomes and/or processes, including special projects. Performs required monitoring of assigned stock areas for medication returns and expiration dates Utilizes resources in a cost effective manner.
