Job Description:

Overall Purpose of the Role

Be responsible for strategic initiatives, identifying growth opportunities, new product launches and  joint ventures. Support the Director of Strategy & Insights with the optimisation of business performance in EMEA.

Areas of Responsibility

  • Conduct analysis of key market trends and competitors to provide insights for senior management to ensure effective decision making
  • Provide advanced business modelling/analysis (including interpretation) of financial data to support business operations
  • Work with Director of Strategy & Insights to identify and develop strategic roadmap of initiatives that drive the business over the next 5 years
  • Ensure there is a continuous review of potential gaps and white space opportunities for the CPGP business, and critically evaluate existing and new business models to unlock growth
  • Support the Director of Strategy & Insights with the new business model evaluation, assessing opportunities to capture more of the margin from the value chain and diversifying the business away from licensing as the primary source of revenue
  • Be responsible for evaluating model revenues streams, costs to deliver and the viability of new business initiatives. Report findings back to the business and make recommendations on improvements
  • Support the brand commercialisation leads as they develop plans to drive growth in their franchises beyond the specific movie releases in a particular year
  • Work with Director of Strategy & Insights to identify ways to support the evolution of the Direct-to-Consumer Retail / E-commerce business to profitable new business models
  • Support preparation of the annual strategic business review and 5 year plan
  • Support organisational transformation initiatives
  • Liaise with the global CPGP / Disney Products, Experiences and Parks (DPEP) strategy teams and the strategy leads in APAC and LATAM to share best practice and identify initiatives for European implementation
  • Ensure close working with Direct-to-Consumer & International / media strategy teams to understand impact of media strategies (Disney+) on CPGP business (both positive and negative)

Experience and Professional Qualifications Required

  • Degree level education in a related field or equivalent work experience
  • Proven experience in financial and valuation models, the ability to apply financial analysis in solving business problems and integrating financial discipline into operational decision making
  • Experience working in a top tier management/strategy consultancy firm within the media sector and/or experience working within a media organisations central business development/strategy team
  • Experience within consumer products commercialisation (Hardlines, Softlines and FMCG experience as relevant for the focus of the role) and/or retail

Skills Required

  • Strong analytical skills and proven ability to conduct complex quantitative analysis to inform business decisions.
  • Ability to analyse data and consumer insights, construct practical conclusions and implement recommendations to achieve business targets
  • Strong commercial awareness and financial acumen
  • An ability to be agile in order to capitalise on the moment and identify new opportunities and target new accounts
  • Computer literate including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Keynote
  • Written and spoken English for business use, essential; other European languages, beneficial
  • Strong strategic skills and ability to think in a structured way
  • Excellent strategic approach to problem solving and innovation
  • Exceptional planning and organisation skills
  • Strong influencing skills with the ability to achieve buy-in at all levels
  • Forward thinking with the ability to take industry trends and translate them into something that drives growth for TWDC
  • Cultural sensitivity and an understanding of local markets across EMEA

Additional Information

  • Flexibility for frequent UK, European or international travel may be required
  • Contribution to ad-hoc projects as the business requires
  • Flexible hours may be required to meet business needs
