We are looking for a self-motivated and committed individual to join our Creative Team to conceptualize innovative products and experiences in the Toys, Consumer Electronics and Food, Health & Beauty space, playing a key role in bringing our stories and characters to life. 

The successful candidate would be someone who is passionate and curious about the Disney brand, have strong knowledge of graphic design, excellent creative credentials and the ability to communicate a clear design brief.

Responsibilities:

  • As a key designer in our product design team, you will be working closely with our product design lead and other members on the following responsibilities:
  • Partner with key account team and licensees in product development range planning to ensure continuity of products in market
  • Provide creative direction, inspiration & feedback to licensees on both 2D application and 3D product submissions in order to drive product quality
  • Train & develop all new and existing licensees on the Disney brand, property portfolio, creative assets and approval systems, ensuring that they have the appropriate creative assets for product development
  • Execute the approval process from initiation to production in a timely manner, ensuring all product submissions are routed through Disney’s Online Product Approval (OPA) system as per global product integrity guidelines
  • Conduct continual research on local and global consumer/market trends, and to share these trends with licensees and ensure that product development is in line and appropriate to the positioning of each franchise and channel of distribution
  • Work closely with the product design lead on future creative strategies across brands & products keeping in mind evolving times
  • Work closely with the New Business and Commercial team to develop compelling creative proposals and create new product design and inspirations across categories for pitching to new partners in order to generate new opportunities
  • Develop and maintain successful working relationships with licensees and other internal & external stakeholders. Collaborate across teams on a variety of creative projects
  • Act as brand guardian to ensure that product development and designs adhere to Disney’s brand standards and guidelines

Requirements:

  • A relevant degree or diploma (graphic design, visual communications, industrial design or equivalent), with a strong portfolio
  • 5 - 7+ years of design experience with relevant design work
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premier Pro, After Effects (3D modeling software is a bonus)
  • Good understanding of Toys or FMCG industry and product development process
  • Creative, capable of bringing forth ideas and concepts that deliver strong results
  • A keen eye for aesthetics, colour, style and trends, plus a strong attention to detail
  • Strong creative problem-solving skills
  • Highly-committed, conscientious, pro-active and able to show initiative, and ideas
  • Able to take ownership for creative aspects within a defined area
  • A positive team player that is communicative, responsive, willing to learn and assist others in the team
  • Good project management skills, able to manage multiple projects at any given time
  • Able to deliver against set deadlines and budgets as directed
  • Good commercial sense and awareness
  • Good presentation skill with excellent verbal and written communication skills
