Job Description:

Disney Entertainment FP&A team oversees financial planning and consolidation for Disney Entertainment (DE), one of the company’s media business units. DE includes the company’s full portfolio of entertainment media and content businesses globally, including streaming.

DE FP&A leads the overall financial planning and consolidation of the segment, representing close to $40 billion of revenue. In doing so, our team works with business partners across the organization, both in the US as well as in global markets. Our role is to gain a deep understanding of each business, manage the financial planning process for Long Range Plan / AOP / Forecast, and provide insightful analysis and recommendations to DE Executive leadership.

DE FP&A is seeking a Finance Manager who will play a pivotal role in supporting some of our key businesses throughout our consolidation process, including primarily Media Networks, linear advertising sales and affiliate revenue, among other finance and consolidation processes.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Report to Director, Finance & Consolidation
  • Lead certain financial planning cycles (5YP / AOP / forecasts), ensuring that stakeholders are aligned on calendars and process, manage overall segment consolidation, identify key themes and stories about our businesses, lead the creation of engaging, informative segment-level deck presentations, and management of Corporate deliverables
  • Partner with certain DE Lines of Business (LOB’s) and International Regions during each planning cycle, ensuring a deeper understanding of the business while providing segment-level support to assist our finance colleagues across the organization
  • Partner with Controllership, Investor Relations, Treasury, and Corporate FP&A on various deliverables associated with quarter close, earnings releases, cash flow, and each planning cycle
  • Embrace TWDC’s Finance Transformation initiatives, and identify process improvements and efficiencies which can help modernize the DE&E FP&A function
  • Provide management reporting (including KPI’s), ad-hoc analysis, and insights to Senior Leadership, adding value by contributing to the decision-making process and also helping the Segment deliver on strategic, financial, and operational goals
  • Proactively consult with subject matter experts for resolution of issues / questions (including Controllership teams), and share information with team members
  • Lead, mentor, and develop on or two direct reports;  Provide indirect leadership and guidance to team members across the global organization

The ideal candidate will be able to synthesize large quantities of data and provide meaningful insights and conclusions, while also being highly proficient with financial reporting systems (e.g. SAP, TM1).  In addition, the ability to tackle multiple projects simultaneously, collaboration with stakeholders across the company,  knowledge across the entire suite of DE&E businesses, and a willingness to help drive process change through the FP&A function are all critical success factors.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to create executive-level presentations, including high proficiency in storytelling and finding creative ways to present financial data
  • Strong research, analytical and strategic thinking skills
  • High level of proficiency with PowerPoint and Excel
  • Enthusiasm for a flexible, fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and multitask in an ambiguous environment
  • Effective interpersonal and cross-group collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in accounting, financial/ business planning or finance; preferably working in or with large organizations

Required Education:

  • BA/BS (focus on Finance, Accounting, or other quantitative field a plus)
The hiring range for this position in California is $123,000.00 to $150,200.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
