The Senior Accountant is primarily responsible for the whole Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions of the Company. The role will require full ownership of the whole transactional cycles.
The Senior Accountant is expected to have a strong understanding of the business and solid technical accounting knowledge and skills.
The role will liaise on a day-to-day basis with local Finance and Sales teams, as well as with the accounting shared services teams in various offshore locations to ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks and deliverables.
The role will be directly reporting to the Manager, Controllership.
Key Areas of Responsibilities
- In-charge of local accounting processes and deliverables in coordination with accounting shared services teams
- Managing accounts receivable, including collecting withholding tax receipts and tax invoices, and monitoring accounts payable processes in coordination with accounting shared service teams
- Implementing Company processes, controls, and policies
- Maintaining the billing system
- Monitoring receivables and collections
- Following up overdue accounts receivable
- Generating invoices, tax invoices and account statements
- Monitoring payables and payments
- Monitoring withholding tax and VAT to comply with local tax rules
- Investigating and addressing customer and vendor queries as well as queries from relevant internal teams
- Performing balance sheet accounts reconciliations
- Receiving vendor invoices, performing necessary validations, and executing transactions in a timely and accurate manner
- Issuing withholding tax certificates to vendors
- Collecting VAT and ensuring compliance with the local tax rules
- Validating T&E receipts and ensuring compliance with Company T&E Policy
- Resolving issues in a timely manner and serve as a resource in troubleshooting complex matters
- Ensuring company policies, processes, and procedures are clearly defined, updated, and documented
- Maintaining accounts payable and accounts receivables files and records
- Ensuring that all external and internal financial reporting deadlines are met
- Supporting the Manager-Controllership on annual financial statement and tax audits
- Assisting in general financial management, analysis, and ad hoc duties
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- At least 7 years of accounting experience with a multinational company
- Ability to work under pressure, handle multiple priorities and manage deliverables and expectations
- Strong attention to details
- Strong knowledge of accounting, controls and local tax principles
- Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a cross-cultural environment
- Self-motivated and can work independently with minimal supervision
- Has positive outlook towards work and getting things done
- Ability to identify opportunities for continuous improvement
- Proficient with SAP, Excel, Word, and Power Point applications
- Written and verbal English and Thai fluency
