Job Description

We’re building an entirely new retail experience with no lines and no checkout. Our checkout-free shopping experience is made possible by our Just Walk Out Technology, which automatically detects when products are taken from or returned to the shelves and keeps track of them in a virtual cart. When a customer is done shopping, they just walk out! Shortly after, their credit card is charged for their purchases and a receipt is sent.

In addition to Just Walk Out technology, we are creating a variety of other exciting customer experiences through inventions like Amazon One and Amazon Dash Cart. These products use a variety of technologies including computer vision, sensor fusion, and advanced machine learning. Innovation is part of our DNA! Our goal is to be Earth's most customer centric company, and we are just getting started. We need people who want to join an ambitious program that continues to push the state of the art in computer vision, machine learning, distributed systems, hardware design, and edge networking.

As a Network Development Engineer working in AWS Apps / Physical Stores you will have end to end ownership developing our network architecture, hardware, and software. We are looking for individuals who are not satisfied with the status quo, and look to push the limits of technology.

Key job responsibilities
• Identifying, developing, and delivering technical solutions that improve the availability of our wired networks.
• Understanding customer needs and creating technical solutions leveraging wired networking technologies.
• Identify and deliver solutions that reduce operational impact to customers and enable them with scalable, resilient, and cost optimized solutions.
• Dive deep on complex problems that identify root causes of our customer impacts, developing and delivering corrective actions.
• Evaluate new technologies, lab test/certify solutions, conduct proof of concepts, run books definition, and lead pilot deployments.
• Innovate and automate infrastructure testing, deployment, operations, and life cycle management.
• Define the strategy for future team processes and tools which improve how we maintain and manage the infrastructure effectively, efficiently, and safely.
• Contribute to hiring and developing top talent at Amazon.

Our ideal candidate is highly autonomous, possesses strong written and verbal communication skills, strong project management and time management skills, and has a successful track record delivering results. The desire and ability to work in a fast paced, collaborative environment is essential.
