The opportunity

As part of our EY-DnA team, you will help clients in developing and implementing data analyses, data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality. Using your expertise in data analytics you will help our clients to view data in context and make smarter business decisions to achieve improved products and services.

We are seeking a Senior Azure Data Engineer with Data Modelling experience to join our team at EY GDS. The primary responsibility will be to design and implement scalable data solutions on the Azure platform. You will work closely with stakeholders across the organization, including data scientists, data analysts, and business users, to understand their requirements and design solutions that meet their needs. In addition, you will be responsible for designing and developing data models that meet our clients' requirements.

 

To qualify for the role, should

• Design and implement data solutions using Azure data services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Cosmos DB.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines to ingest, transform, and load data from various sources.
• Work with clients and other team members to gather data requirements and design data solutions that meet their needs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery of data solutions.
• Implement data security and privacy controls to protect sensitive data.
• Monitor data pipelines and resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
• Ensure that data solutions meet scalability, performance, and reliability requirements.
• Ensure that data models are scalable, efficient, and easy to maintain.
• Optimize costs of running data services on Azure.
• Work with stakeholders to identify business needs and requirements.
• Strong knowledge in Architecture patterns.
• Experience working on real data ingestion using Kafka/ event hub

Skills and attributes for success

• 7-10 years of experience in data engineering.
• Strong experience with Azure data services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Cosmos DB.
• Experience with data modelling, ETL/ELT, and data warehousing concepts.
• Hands on experience with programming languages such as Python, SQL, and Scala.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI and Tableau.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

 

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Azure certifications such as Azure Data Engineer Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Azure DevOps Engineer Expert.
• Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, PySpark, and Kafka.
• Experience with Agile software development methodologies.
