Introduction
As a Ventures Operations Consultant/Strategy Consultant you will work within our Asia Pacific (APAC) Ventures Team to help setup and deliver on IBM Consulting’s inorganic agenda. This will involve working across multiple deal types including Minority Investments, Acquisitions, Partnerships, and Alternate Structure Deals. You will work closely with our clients, our IBM Garage Teams, and the Leadership Teams across APAC.

Your Role and Responsibilities
Portfolio Strategy
-Support development of the APAC Portfolio Strategy & Investment Thesis
Opportunity Identification-Conduct Market Scans of inorganic opportunities across Partnerships, Minority Investments, Acquisitions, and Client Venture
Opportunity Development-Support development of business cases, and integration plans for Acquisitions
-Support development of Business Plans, Business Cases, and Commercial Agreements for Client Ventures (e.g. Alternate Structures)
-Support development of business cases, commercial agreements, and GTM strategies for Minority Investments
-Support development of commercial agreements, and GTM strategies, for Partnerships
Portfolio Management-Manage pipeline of Partnerships, Minority Investments, Acquisitions, and Alternate Structure inorganic opportunities
-Support Portfolio Reporting across multiple initiatives
-Support Governance meetings, and prepare Board Papers and meeting minutes
Integration Execution-Support the Integration Team to execute integration activities of properties in the portfolio
-Manage the impediment management process for integration issues
Support the Integration Governance of properties in the portfRequired Technical and Professional Expertise
- Experience in financial modelling and business case development
- Experience in developing Business Plans and Commercial Agreements
- Excellent communication (written and oral), and interpersonal skills
- Consulting experience (desired, not mandatory)
- Proven track-record in problem solving and strategic thinking
- Proficiency in new ways of working Lean Portfolio Management, Lean Start-up, Scaled Agile, Lean UX, and DevOps methodologies
- Conceptual understanding of Design and/or Research including Enterprise Design Thinking, Lean UX, and Design Sprints
- Experience in change management and transformation (desired, not mandatory)
- Interest and understanding of Venture Capital, M&A, and Private Equity
- A growth mindset and an interest in continuous learning
