This role will oversee the architecture and implementation of the technology infrastructure to support marketing, communications & citizenship activities for a designated Content tools portfolio. Ensures the effective running, availability, and integration of components and sub-platforms. Provides subject matter expertise on the various components and advises integrated learning experts, content creators, and deployment leads on how to optimally use and leverage the platforms under their purview. From a technical perspective, evaluates and recommends the IBM and 3rd party components which best support solutions for business priorities. Builds strong relationships with technical leaders responsible for various infrastructure elements & fosters cooperation and collaboration across the extended team. This role will be managing a team of engineers focused on IBM’s Content platforms and how they will be integrated with other systems up/down stream to support content reuse and performance metrics.

Responsibilities:
• Build, test, deploy and maintain marketing content platforms which support the content supply chain mission within the Martech team
• Provide the technical subject matter expertise required to guide colleagues on how best to leverage the various components of the platforms
• Instrument the content platforms to extract meaningful metrics to inform our marketing priorities, plans, and activities. For example, implement metrics to reflect content use and effectiveness by role, business unit and market/geo.
• Grow mutually beneficial relationships with technical leaders across the IBM engineering community, particularly in key components of the content supply chain infrastructure (eg. Learning & Knowledge paltforms, CMSs, etc). Stay abreast of plans and issues pertaining to these components and take advantage of opportunities as well as mitigate risks when they arise.
• Build community with technical leads of related tool sets with an eye to collaboration, consolidation, and sharing of best practices. Know the direction and actions that the CIO is taking with regards to the technology infrastructure; recommend adjustments and actions as necessary.
• Periodically evaluate and recommend alternative components and platforms to stay at the cutting edge of technology and provide the capabilities that the enablement team needs.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
• 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role
• Experience managing a team of engineers, whether on a project basis or direct HR oversight
• Experience with content management, publishing, CRM, and/or learning (LMS) systems
• HTML, CSS, Javascript, and any scripting language (Ruby, Python, Java, etc)
• Experience building and deploying integrated learning solutions such as chatbots, guided learning, etc.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
• Cognitive engineering
• Experience with AEM, video tooling, and creative workflows
• Working knowledge of the content creation process
• Familiarity with metadata & taxonomies
