Job Description

Are you interested in improving the customer packaging experience, reducing waste, increasing sustainability, and improving supply chain efficiency? The Amazon Mechatronics & Sustainable Packaging team is looking for an experienced, driven, and analytical Sr. Program Manager with outstanding leadership skills to lead a critical component of Amazon's packaging optimization efforts as a part of our commitment to reaching 100% net-zero carbon by 2040. Mechatronics & Sustainable Packaging sets the global, multi-year strategic packaging vision to drive waste and cost reduction and contribute directly to Amazon’s Climate Pledge goals. Our products are public facing and provide a unique opportunity to interact with end customers on every order.

Key job responsibilities
In this role you will both think big and execute, developing and managing processes and mechanisms to improve the quality of the packaging experience and drive optimization at scale. You will be successful in this role if you (1) are passionate about creating a great customer experience while driving down waste in operational processes, (2) can develop data-based insights and turn them into actionable workplans, and (3) collaborate across multi-functional teams to execute with excellence. You will drive measurable improvements throughout the supply chain by developing a deep understanding of the fulfillment journey, identifying opportunities for improvement, and using that knowledge to define and create ways to delight customers and improve operational efficiency across Automation, Finance, Data Science, Operations and Selling Partners organizations.

A successful candidate excels in both strategic thinking and tactical execution, is comfortable with ambiguity and thrives in driving large-scale changes. This individual should be comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment with fast delivery time and rapid iteration. You will have high ownership of your work as proven by a track record of working in a cross-functional capacity and driving projects to their completion while delivering operational excellence. You are detail-oriented, agile, with strong time management, communication, and project management skills, and have experience working across Amazon’s Supply Chain. You anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, and make tradeoffs when necessary. Keys to success include strong motivation to dive deep into the data to uncover root causes and solving problems independently. Most importantly, your work will directly impact the shopping and delivery experience of millions of customers globally by improving the selection of lower waste products for our customers.
