About the Role & Program

We are the Literary Affairs Department for 20th Century Studios, Searchlight Pictures, and Walt Disney Studios, acting as the studios’ eyes and ears in the publishing world. We seek out books both pre- and post-publication as well as other forms of Intelligent Property such as articles, short stories, and podcasts to consider for film adaptation. Our department has helped acquire film rights to literary properties such as HIDDEN FIGURES, GONE GIRL, and THE MARTIAN.

What You Will Do

We are looking for an organized and meticulous intern to aid us in our day-to-day operations. The intern will report to Vice President of Literary Affairs. Some of the position’s primary tasks will include:

• Heavy data entry and record keeping

• Track industry news and book reviews

• Assist the VP with various administrative tasks

• Read and verbally pitch material for the team

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and an ability to multitask

• Passion for books and movies

• Ability to think critically about content and articulate thoughts succinctly and effectively

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous internship experience working in publishing and/or content development

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in English, Literature,  or equivalent field.

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information

• Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship

• Must be at least 18 years of age

• Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.

• Must possess unrestricted work authorization
