Slack is seeking an experienced communications professional to join our team as a Senior Specialist with a focus on Product and Platform Communications on our Global Communications team. In this role, you will support our communication programs including product launches, events, contributed content, executive visibility, customer storytelling and always-on activities. What you will be doing:

  • Support Slack’s Product and Platform Communications team across earned, owned, and paid programs
  • Work closely with Customer Marketing to for customer storytelling opportunities in the media
  • Source and provide customer references for product launches, reactive media opportunities, owned content, exec interviews, and events 
  • Assist with any customer needs for Slack’s social media team
  • In partnership with our PR agency, secure media opportunities, develop prep materials, review media lists, and facilitate interviews 
  • Keep master documents like fact sheets, messaging documents, project trackers, and playbooks up to date
  • Proactively develop thought leadership pitch ideas for executives, product education and ongoing storytelling
  • Track our ongoing media opportunities and engagements and capture them in reports including our “Weekly Look Ahead” 
  • Assist with our Slack Advocates program (contributed thought leadership content from Slack employees)
  • Act as a point of contact for PR requests internally and externally from media including sourcing information, data, quotes, and imagery 
  • Stay on top of industry and culture trends, sharing media insights and areas of opportunities for Slack 

What you should have:

  • 3-4 years of relevant communications, public relations, marketing experience (in technology, preferred) 
  • Strong understanding of media and events and a passion for PR
  • Ability to spot trends and craft compelling stories
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills; confidence in public speaking and sharing ideas internally 
  • Strategic and creative thinking grounded in a passion for storytelling 
  • Thrive in operating in a fast-paced, ambitious environment and comfortable with change 
  • Highly organized, able to initiate and run with projects
  • Strong time management skills; comfortable managing up and operating in a remote setting
  • Not afraid to ask for help or to express challenges 
  • Enjoys a full plate and wearing many hats plus balancing them all! 
  • A true team player that is comfortable working with new people and being pulled onto teams for support as needed 
  • Bachelor’s degree required

For California-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $106,200 to $146,000.

Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, benefits.
