EY is looking for Senior Consultants - Process Simulation Engineers.

 

Qualification: B.E. / B.Tech. degree in Chemical Engineering/Petroleum Engineering/Polymer Engineering

 

Description

EY LLP (India) is seeking for enthusiastic professionals in the field of process simulation for Oil & Gas, Petrochemical domain. This role is for passionate chemical engineers who love modelling industrial processes to uncover the optimization opportunities in the existing unit operations and processes.

Experience in Steady State (preferred) Process and/or Dynamic Modelling will be considered. Further, it will include the support to Sales as an internal subject-matter-expert (SME) for process modelling.

 

Responsibilities:

1. Build and Deploy process digital twin with open loop and/or close loop optimization.
2. Develop and Implement process simulation projects using AspenTech's Engineering Suite software specifically Aspen Plus, Aspen Hysys, ACM, EO mode, Aspen Polymerplus, Aspen Online, Aspen Plus / Hysys Dynamics.
3. Review process flow diagrams (PFD), process & instrumentation diagrams (P&ID), mass balances, actual plant data, process descriptions, data sheets and process manuals.
4. Co-ordinate solution deliverables with Client to ensure projects achieve stated milestones, delivery dates and financial goals.
5. Provide guidance and advice to less experienced team members to ensure client satisfaction.
6. Dealing effectively with technical issues to ensure client satisfaction.
7. Participate in client meetings, prepare project documentations/reports and assist with user training as necessary.
8. Maintain and extend client satisfaction levels and develop opportunities for additional services.
9. Assist the sales and delivery team in preparing and delivering bids and proposals for clients.

Skills and Experience

Must have

1. B.E. / B.Tech. degree in Chemical Engineering/Petroleum Engineering/Polymer Engineering
2. 5+ years of experience in rigorous process modelling in one or more of the process industries that includes Oil and Gas, Refining, Chemicals, Petrochemical or Polymer, or equivalent experience in an Engineering Company or in the Engineering department of an Operating Company.
3. Certified or 2-5 years equivalent hands-on experience in using process simulation and design tools from AspenTech or other Software vendors such as Honeywell UniSim, KBC PetroSim, Aveva Pro/II etc.
4. Previous experience on refinery process modelling/strong knowledge of refinery process such as but not limited to CDU, SRU, CCR, FCCU etc.
5. Previous experience on petrochemical process modelling/strong knowledge of petchem process such as but not limited to PTA, PP, LDPE, PET etc.
6. Proven knowledge and understanding of major industrial processes in Refining, Chemicals, Petrochemicals or Polymer from the thermodynamic, operational and design/modelling perspective.
7. Excellent written, oral communication and presentation skill in English is a must.
8. Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint and Excel) is a must.
9. Willing to travel national/international based on client requirement.
10. Ability to work as team player with positive attitude and ability to understand the client requirement thereby maintaining good working relationship.
11. Fast learner and proactive problem solver with strong analytical skills.
12. Capable of multi-tasking efficiently and effectively. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while handling multiple projects/priorities.

Good to have

1. PhD or master’s degree in Chemical Engineering/Petroleum Engineering/Polymer Engineering
2. Knowledge of Polymer processes and hand-on experience process modelling experience with Aspen Polymer.
3. Delivered complete integrated process flowsheet using steady state process simulation.
4. Expertise in reactor modelling techniques with using Aspen AI model builder for AI based reactor model.
5. Previous experience in a process plant design or Technical Services or an operational environment.
