  • The award-winning Disney InsightWorks team is looking for a commercial research analyst to work on the sub-brand National Geographic InsightWorks, providing insights and analytics for one of the most historic brands of all time.

  • Join our team to work across National Geographic's brand sales and partnerships. This role involves working with our advertising partners to ensure that they engage with our audiences in the most relevant and authentic way. You will be the voice of the consumer, from pitch work through to partner campaign evaluation. Using behavioural science and social analytics, this multifaceted role plays a crucial part in creating meaningful and effective advertising campaigns.

Areas of Responsibility

Key elements and required results of the role

  • Responding to briefs and pitch work, using our research tools to create the most compelling insights for National Geographic's advertising sales team.

  • An expert in the audience and media of National Geographic, with in-depth knowledge of viewership across the entire National Geographic ecosystem: TV, Social, Digital, and Print.

  • Monitor engagement with National Geographic across the entire media ecosystem using a variety of tools, including but not limited to Barb, Brandwatch, Tubular, Adobe, and NRS.

  • Be a category expert on key National Geographic categories such as travel and luxury.

  • Be a topic expert and have an interest in key National Geographic topics such as exploration and the natural world.

  • Produce "Thought Leadership" reports and present them to clients.

  • Manage from scripting to presenting client campaign evaluation research. Working with the   manager on the team, you will plan and implement research evaluation campaigns for key clients.

  • Where needed, provide commercial insight support for other brands, such as Disney+, ESPN, or studio brands like Marvel or Pixar.

  • This role sits within the commercial research team for TWDC EMEA. The team works across all TWDC brands, providing research and support for commercial advertising sales and partnerships. These include but are not limited to: National Geographic; ESPN; Marvel; Star Wars; Pixar; Disney; and Disney+. The team is responsible for supporting the sales teams across Europe and globally in driving revenue and value for TWDC.

  • The role will primarily focus on National Geographic from a UK, EMEA, and global level.

  • The role is the main dedicated National Geographic resource within the team and, as such, offers a wide scope of influence across stakeholders both internally and externally.

  • Supporting briefs and research projects plays a key role in the relationship with our most important clients.

Experience and Professional Qualifications Required

Experience, Qualifications and People Management experience

  • Experience managing media effectiveness research projects, including scripting questionnaires and conducting data analysis.

  • Experienced and comfortable presenting research findings in an engaging and storytelling-led manner.

  • Experience in dealing with a large amount of data across digital and social media.

  • Experience in quantitative analysis.

  • Desired: Experience in statistical software such as Alteryx, Tableau, and Adobe.

  • Experience working with data from the media landscape, preferably across digital and social.

  • The role requires a curious and innovative thinker who can approach tasks from different perspectives.

  • Since large amounts of data are involved, an eye for detail will be essential.

  • Commercial acumen is essential – the ability to turn data into insights in an interesting and engaging way.

  • Comfortable working on projects independently.

  • Able to manage and prioritize multiple deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
