Your Role and Responsibilities
Software Defined Networking (SDN) Business unit focuses on software based networking, an architecture approach that enables network to be intelligently and centrally controlled using software with main focus on automating network functions, allowing for simpler provisioning and management of network resources, everywhere from the data center to the campus to the edge. We help service providers achieve zero touch network operations. SDN is under IBM Software which is IBM Products division.
Role:
As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will act as bridge between IT operations , DevOps , QA and Development team. Ensures a reliable system by solving, reporting and co ordinating gaps. SRE will keep an ever-watchful eye on systems’ health. Continuously improve upon by automating processes. Identify opportunity to fix issues permanently, thus creating a stable system. The automation and policy-based management help organizations respond to fluctuations in resource demand and traffic and ensures optimal efficiency of network resources. You will also be working on Telco cloud platform that enables automation of network operations so CSP can transform their networks and evolve to zero-touch operation, reduce OPEX and deliver faster service.
As an IBM Site Reliability Engineer, responsible for ensuring that our software components are deployed in Pre Prod / Production environments, Monitor the system for any anomalies, Automate alerting mechanism, Support DevOps to procure logs and deep dive investigations and ready for integration into IBM’s best-of-breed solutions that help organizations improve their business outcomes in the global marketplace.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- 10+ years of experience in Operations, SRE running large system.
- Cloud technology - Docker, Terraform, Kubernetes
- Knowledge in monitoring and observability technologies (Streaming telemetry, Kafka, IPFIX/Netflow, SNMP, Prometheus... )
- Experience in agile development methodologies
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Experience with public clouds (AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud, GCP...)
- Experience in microservices architectures, cloud native applications and API development (REST, event oriented)
