The opportunity

Adobe is seeking a Sr. Director, Platform & DevOps Engineering to lead an organization at the forefront of delivering Adobe’s innovative Adobe Experience Platform (AEP). In partnership with Product Management and Design leaders you will spearhead building and optimizing the Platform architecture, on AWS, fostering a DevOps culture, and enabling engineering teams to create systems that meet stringent uptime and latency objectives. This leader will also be responsible for the engineering execution critical to the success of Adobe Experience Platform and requires significant leadership experience in complex software engineering and technology organizations.

What you'll do

  • Work with a globally distributed team of highly-engaged managers and engineers by hiring, coaching, and instilling a sense of ownership and impact.
  • Build and contribute to a team culture that achieves a well-designed system through a commitment to learning and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with the overall Platform Engineering organization by working with your leads, teams and executive partners across the company.
  • Clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical internal stakeholders as well as customers.
  • Improve on and champion new processes to enable smooth collaboration across offices and time zones.
  • Enable engineering teams to create systems that meet stringent uptime and latency Service Level Objectives while operating in a continuous release environment.
  • Optimize spending on cloud providers and other third-party software tools to ensure cost of goods sold targets are met.

What you'll need to succeed

  • 7+ years of work experience in leading engineering teams with a deep technical understanding of cloud platforms
  • Very strong practical experience in building SaaS applications on and working with AWS services
  • Significant leadership experience in complex software engineering or technology organizations, ideally as a senior leader
  • Commitment to operational excellence demonstrated by prior experience at a high-availability, continuous deployment company
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical internal stakeholders as well as customers
  • Strong ability to hire, coach, and instill a sense of ownership and impact in teams
  • Experience in building and contributing to a team culture that achieves a well-designed system through a commitment to learning and continuous improvement
  • Experience in working with globally distributed teams and enabling smooth collaboration across offices and time zones
  • Knowledge of optimizing spending on cloud providers and other third-party software tools to ensure cost targets are met

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several  U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $180,500 -- $387,200 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.

At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans.  Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).

In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
