The Opportunity

The Director, Editorial Strategy oversees producers, creators, and creative strategists, creative briefs, creative conceptualization, and execution of all social. They ensure a cohesive strategy, look, feel, and tone of social across all segments.

What You'll Do

  • Define brand and product values, positioning, and tone based on consumer and business insights

  • Source & analyze global cultural, consumer, marketing & business data to develop evidence-based insights that underpin marketing and creative strategy

  • Use insights to spot trends early, finding opportunities for brand and product segments

  • Stay ahead of changing behaviors, needs and perceptions of a diverse set of consumer audiences

  • Oversee creative to spot, nurture and steward exceptional creative ideas

  • Set annual social strategy to achieve brand KPIs

  • Build concise briefs for creative, activation and media teams rooted in consumer insights, cultural trends, past performance, and comprehensive understanding of product stakeholder requirements

  • Work closely with Managing Director to ensure there is clarity on the creative vision for the work and that it is underpinned with evidence-based insights

  • Collaborate with partner agencies to champion creative innovation and creative personalization tailored to each audience & channel

  • Continuously monitor and look for ways to improve the quality, value, and efficiency of production

What you need to succeed

Deep Expertise in Social Media: A minimum of 10 years of leadership experience driving large-scale social media programs, inclusive of platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn, X (Twitter) and YouTube. Should encompass tactical and strategic knowledge in the owned, earned, and paid social campaigns.

Insightful Strategizing: Proven ability in sourcing, analyzing, and crafting practical plans from global cultural, consumer, marketing, and business insights. This includes spotting trends, understanding diverse consumer behaviors, and translating these into marketing and creative strategies.

Cross-functional Collaboration: Proven track record for effectively working across various teams, partners, and agencies, demonstrating alignment with the creative vision and ensuring clarity for all stakeholders involved.

Background in Target Audiences: Experience running marketing programs specifically for creative professional audiences.

Creative Excellence: Demonstrated expertise in leading all aspects of creative processes and nurturing exceptional creative ideas. This should be complemented by strong copywriting skills.

Metrics and Reporting: Robust proficiency in deriving insights from social media metrics, with the capability to continuously monitor, evaluate, and improve social strategies based on data.

Communication Skills: Exceptional communication capabilities, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate nuanced issues, strategies, and briefs clearly.

Production & Efficiency: A keen eye for improving production processes' quality, value, and efficiency.

Problem Solving & Organization: Proven creative problem-solving skills, meticulous attention to detail, and organizational competency.

Educational Background: Bachelor's degree required, with an advanced degree being a valuable addition.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several  U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $128,300 -- $236,500 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.

At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans.  Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).

In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
