The Opportunity

As the Director of Infrastructure & Media your job is leading the teams critical to Frame.io's continued growth. Frame.io holds ourselves to the highest standards around speed, performance, and quality, requiring constant innovation from our Infrastructure & Media teams. Your teams are operate our core services, develop new platforms, and drive our world class media pipelines ever further.  You are a hands-on leader who enjoys getting deep on architecture and infrastructure while mentoring and growing high performance teams. You’ll collaborate with stakeholders across Frame.io and Adobe to develop and execute our technical roadmap.

We work with petabytes of data, hundreds of thousands of video encodes per day, and take on the challenges and demands that come from working at the very forefront of delivering Enterprise grade secure collaboration experiences.

What you'll do

  • Be responsible for the technical roadmap for our infrastructure and media

  • Strategic collaboration around our product and platform, squad process, organization design, and engineering culture

  • Lead, manage and attract talent to teams of experts on scalability, resilience, and media.

  • Develop our managers and ICs to new levels of performance in an inclusive environment

  • Provide strategic insights on the global video landscape to key stakeholders and look for opportunities to innovate in collaboration with product engineering

  • Recommend strategies to balance delivery quality with infrastructure costs and make decisions on build vs buy

  • Facilitate honest conversations about trade offs, within and between squads

  • Maintain the highest levels of security including active collaboration with our security team to facilitate secure development processes

What you need to succeed

  • 10+ years of overall technical experience, including deep knowledge of architecture and operations of highly available, large-scale backend services

  • Experience with media or video infrastructure highly preferred

  • Experience hiring and developing extraordinary teams capable of leveraging the growing capabilities of cloud software and infrastructure

  • Experience fostering best-in-class mentorship, development and training programs

  • Comfort working with the technologies we use (Elixir, Postgres, Cloudfront, Lambda@Edge, API Gateway, EKS, EC2, Docker, Kubernetes)

  • Knowledgeable and opinionated on backend tooling, including CI pipelines, deployment automation, and dependency management

  • A record of owning sustainable operations and observability for mission critical technology services at scale

  • You have a love of great products and product design!

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several  U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $167,900 -- $327,300 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.

At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans.  Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).

In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
