The Opportunity

Join the team of attorneys who provide legal counsel to the product teams at Adobe that develop the coolest products and services. Our creative professional customers love our products and use them to make the most incredible and inspiring photos, eLearning content, art, videos and marketing pieces. Adobe is seeking a versatile and upbeat lawyer to support the print & publishing and digital media products teams and handles the business matters pertaining to the organization.  This position will work closely with product development, engineering, business strategy and marketing teams, as well as subject matter authorities in Legal to provide counseling on a wide range of legal topics and to advance their business objectives while handling legal risk to Adobe.

What you'll do:

• Review the development of Adobe’s DALP Business and initiatives to assess legal compliance and provide practical advice.
• Draft and negotiate all types of technology licensing agreements, both in-bound and out-bound product and technology licenses.
• Coordinate with subject matter experts in Adobe Legal, including compliance, patent, privacy, and sales attorneys.
• Support and build positive relationships with Adobe’s product development teams and advise multiple levels of management on legal issues.
• Develop and deliver materials and trainings on Open Source, Privacy and Security to various internal groups, including engineering, program management, and sales-legal.
• Collaborate and coordinate with sales, finance, procurement, marketing, engineering, and business unit teams as vital to support process transactions, to address corporate policies/processes and legal issues as they arise.
• Additional responsibility may include support to Real Estate initiatives and day to day affairs for multiple sites across India.
• Acts as advisor, or coordinates with external counsel, on legal issues including but not limited to the organization's data privacy, risk mitigation, and intellectual property.

Requirements

• Candidate must have a law degree with 6+ years of relevant legal experience, with software and online services industry experience.
• Proficient at negotiating and drafting all types of intellectual property agreements including in-bound technology licenses, out-bound product and technology licenses, development agreements, online services agreements, end user license agreement and terms of use for online services.
• Expertise in privacy and data security issues and compliance is strongly preferred.
• Prior experience with legal support for products and services, mobile app development strongly preferred.
• Technical background or a geek-level curiosity about software products and development preferred.
• Effective interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
• Dedication to providing clients with high quality and timely legal advice and be flexible to tackle types of products and services and related work.
• Must be able to exercise sense to provide both practical and theoretical advice; must be a creative problem solver and have business instincts.
