The Opportunity 

We are looking for a 3D pipeline software engineer with a strong understanding of 3D graphics application APIs and a deep sense of software craftsmanship to participate in the design and implementation of interoperability solutions to seamlessly integrate Adobe’s 3D and 2D digital content creation tools and frameworks into production pipelines.

We are a tightly knit team developing a state-of-the-art software and delivering robust, fast and resource-conscious components to product teams.

Our team will closely collaborate with Adobe's UX design and research teams to turn groundbreaking ideas and technologies into shipping features.

What you'll Do 

  • Work collaboratively with UX designers and application engineers to architect, develop, maintain and optimize production pipelines and integration solutions
  • Design and implement modern algorithms by writing robust, high-performance code
  • Develop experiments to explore tradeoffs between various possible implementations
  • Identify and fix application bugs and performance bottlenecks
  • Review code on a near daily basis and give detailed, constructive feedback
  • Work closely with many different product and teams across Adobe to integrate software across organizational boundaries

What you need to succeed 

  • 5+ years writing production code
  • Knowledge of Python scripting language
  • Experience working in dynamic and complex 3D asset pipelines
  • Knowledge of modern renderers and rendering techniques
  • Knowledge of C++, C++14, design patterns 
  • Experience writing cross platform code 
  • Understanding of high-level APIs and frameworks
  • Experience in profiling, debugging and testing complex systems 
  • Experience with optimization and profiling tools
  • Experience in writing integration software across 3D tools (e.g. Maya, Cinema4D)

Welcomed expertise:

  • Universal Scene Description (USD) API and frameworks
  • VFX or video game production experience
  • Modern graphics APIs (OpenGL, DirectX, Vulkan, Metal) 
  • Qt application framework
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail 
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience or education

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several  U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $146,400 -- $275,000 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.

At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans.  Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).

In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
