The Opportunity

• The Photoshop Applied Research and Technology team is looking for a highly motivated and dedicated person with a passion for technology and delivering imaging and photography experiences that delight customers. This individual will work with a very dynamic customer-focused engineering and product management and will help with the tech transfer process of bringing AI/ML applied research pipelines into Photoshop desktop. This exciting opportunity also involves validating and giving input to innovative Generative AI workflows and experiences. Contribute to an industry-leading imaging application that impacts millions of users.

What you'll Do

• Working closely with engineers, researchers, and product managers, ensure the highest quality of Photoshop software is delivered to our customers through an agile scrum development environment.
• Write and implement test plans and test cases based upon feature requirements and design documentation, and be a strong voice for the customers.
• Closely work with automation QE to craft and deliver automated test cases. Evaluate a new model compared to the baseline.
• Conduct qualitative and quantitative evaluations of AI/ML models, pipelines, and prototypes as needed. Create reports on findings.
• Monitor forums and support customer care to prioritize solving top customer issues. Own the triage process and represent the users' voice.
• Investigate, isolate, and identify root causes for customer-reported issues write detailed bug reports, and work with development teams in resolution.
• Gather test data from your own photography or legally licensed 3rd party photography.
• Apply and use Photoshop's new features and workflows as an artist or power user.
• Provide early feedback to research projects.
• Drive initiatives to improve the QE process and tools that increase the team's efficiency.
• Stay ahead of the latest QE standard practices and share your findings with the team.
• Evaluate and report on comparable or competitive features and workflows from third-party software.

What you need to succeed

• BS Degree in Photographic Sciences, BA Degree in Commercial Photography, Graphic Design, or related field of study, or 5+ years of equivalent practical experience.
• Photoshop enthusiast and power user a must.
• Solid experience in testing photo editing software.
• Extensive experience conducting systematic and organized validation of software correctness through well-defined test methodologies.
• Knowledge and experience working with AI/ML-powered applications, including Generative AI.
• Experience with prioritizing bugs alongside developers.
• Experience with compiling bug trends and analysis reports.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; can effectively articulate complex ideas and influence others through well-reasoned explanations.
• Familiarity with Mac and Windows desktop platforms is a must, with additional hardware platforms a plus.
• Experience with other Adobe Products, especially Creative Cloud applications, is a plus.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several  U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $107,000 -- $203,100 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.

At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans.  Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).

In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
