Job Description: 

The Shift manager (aka, COS or Captain of the Ship) in NMDMO is responsible for managing the tactical operations of the factory to ensure we meet product delivery commitments, as a result of meeting output, cycle time, and quality goals.

The COS partners with the Shift GLs (Group Leaders) to ensure 7x24 capability and performance to goals. In this role, you will partner across sites/departments (Production, IE, Automation, Engineering, Planning, etc) to transfer/integrate and ramp technologies within our existing HVM (High Volume Manufacturing) systems, to include benchmarking, copying, developing, implementing, and continuously improving operational standards, best-known methodologies, and multiple business processes and systems.

This will also include identifying and evaluating alternatives or contingencies to any start-up/ramp barriers. Partnering with the other CWW (Compressed Work Week) leaders and Engineering organizations to manage resource interdependencies will be a critical task/skill. NMDMO has 3 COS per shift, with cross-training/coverage across all technologies expected. This opening is for Shift 4 (nights, Sun/Mon/Tue and every other Sat).

The ideal candidate should exhibit the following behavioral traits/skills:

  • Understanding and application of manufacturing methodologies and principles (manufacturing science/factory physics) and line management strategies and tactics.

  • Understanding and application of Quality Control systems, Model Based Problem Solving, and LEAN principles.

  • Learn new, complex systems and leverage them to optimize factory performance.

  • Effectively communicate ideas using written and verbal means to all levels of the organization.

  • Partner, influence, negotiate, and drive accountability within diverse functional teams in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications:

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's/higher degree (Technical/Engineering/Operations Management or related field) OR 5+ years of semiconductor experience with an associate degree or Military Education.

  • 2+ years leadership/management experience

  • 3+ years' experience in a Manufacturing Industry.
