About Chief Accounting Office:
The Chief Accounting Office (CAO) organization is responsible for all accounting and the related compliance and reporting of Intel globally. The team has responsibility for partnering with routine data process owners to confirm the proper accounting to Intel’s general ledger for financial related business processes; performs all controllership and consolidation functions of accounting transactions within Intel’s general ledgers; consolidates Intel’s financial results; performs necessary controllership functions for the review and reconciliation of Intel’s consolidated results; and drafts and files all required financial compliance reporting globally.
About the Role:
An executive leadership position within the CAO organization, broader Finance and business process cross-functional teams that is chartered with delivering business processes, infrastructure, and governance to support Intel's end-state business transformation objectives, in particular with respect to automation initiatives including Intel's global SAP S4 implementation. In addition, this position will be responsible for managing technical accounting consultations and operationalizing conclusions, and building operational excellence capability throughout the CAO organization.
Scope of Role:
The position is expected to span multiple controllership disciplines that include ERP design, implementation and optimization, close, revenue recognition, technical accounting, M&A, reporting, business process management and change management. The position will require flexibility and fluidity in scope and responsibility to address Intel's emerging business paradigms in furtherance of Intel's business transformation.
In the immediate timeframe, the VP, Accounting scope will include:
Interim business process solution design, implementation and operation
End-state enterprise resource planning (ERP) business process solution design, implementation and operation
Global process owner (GPO) enablement to solution, enable and sustain business processes
Responsibilities:
Lead a global team of over 100 employees and report directly to the Chief Accounting Officer.
Partner with other leaders to design an optimal controllership function, delivering a best-in-class, risk-based organizational structure, an optimized global workforce, and efficient business processes that meet accounting requirements at an optimized cost structure.
Act as a proxy for and represent the Chief Accounting Officer in cross-functional business transformation meetings, developing and reviewing presentations and ratifying decisions. The position will summarize fact patterns clearly and concisely in bring down meetings with the Chief Accounting Officer to disposition.

Skills Required:
ERP, automation and global business process acumen:
Translate business process requirements into simplified structures and flows supported with optimized organizational design to achieve desired programmatic outcomes including enabling the business process and ensuring accounting compliance while optimizing cost structures
Understand end to end process design, implementation, and operation
Understand data structures and end-to-end impacts
Accounting, process and controls: ability to derive accounting conclusions and identify, understand and translate complex cross-functional accounting requirements into business processes and automation tools that materially achieve the desired business process and accounting objectives at an optimized cost structure
Controllership operations: design, implement, run and sustain a risk-assessed operation to drive accounting compliance, utilizing a globally diverse workforce and global process owner structure
Technical accounting consultation and conclusions: translate business facts into accounting conclusions utilizing relevant accounting guidance in an autonomous and expeditious manner
Communication: work with and organize across different functions to solution issues and report out both verbally and in presentation format
Partnership and execution within a matrixed structure: ability to work cross-functionally and objectively to a desired outcome that is in the best interest of Intel
Leadership, organizational design and execution and people management skills
Qualifications:
Experience Required:
20+ years of relevant experience
BS or equivalent in a related field; advance degree (MBA, etc.) a plus; relevant industry certifications such as CPA a plus
Experience managing, implementing and running controllership functions at large, complex, multi-national companies including experience with organizational design to address evolving business requirements
Best in class expertise with accounting operations; implementation, design, operation and execution of ERP systems and related automation; global processes; and complex technical accounting interpretations and conclusions
Depth and breadth in technical accounting, M&A, SEC Reporting and statutory reporting compliance
Process transition and change management experience to centralize processes while leveraging a highly automated and connected ERP structure
Process and business transformation and project management experience
Legal entity organization, transactional flows and governance

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in
US, California:$215,050.00-$387,050.00Salary range dependent on a number of factors including location and experience.
