Job Description: 

The Director of the Americas Export Program leads the team responsible for managing export control matters, standards, and processes, including with respect to the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

The leader provides strategic direction to the team on trade strategy, regulatory interpretations and complex, high-priority projects, and programs. This person is responsible for developing strategies and advising the business on how to pursue opportunities while ensuring regulatory compliance.

This person will interface with internal and external partners, government officials, and legal teams to ensure alignment on export compliance controls and regulations for the Americas.

Key Responsibilities for this role:

  • Management and direction of all export compliance activities in the Americas.

  • Manage export control issues, standards, and processes, including with respect to the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

  • Manage and obtain rulings on behalf of Intel business units from appropriate United States Government regulatory agencies, as required to comply with all applicable trade requirements globally.

  • Provide regulatory consultation, communications, and awareness to stakeholders in various business functions to ensure the compliant, efficient, and cost-effective cross-border compliance.

  • Ensure Intel is compliant with all relevant export regulatory requirements.

  • Continuously assess the export regulatory landscape and align team resources accordingly for optimum effectiveness.

  • Proactively identify and mitigate export compliance risks.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field; master's degree preferred.

  • 10+ years of trade compliance experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience of practical day to day work experience applying ITAR and EAR regulations to international program activities.

  • Minimum of 5 years of people management experience.

  • Experience working in the US government trade regulatory agencies desired.

  • Experience partnering with government licensing officers and regulators to resolve regulatory matters and identify novel solutions to meet business needs, worldwide.

  • Strong regulatory knowledge of US export control laws.

  • Leadership skills with an ability to manage multiple tasks and inspire others to perform in a fast-moving environment.

  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to make well-thought through decisions in a timely way.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Highly motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment. Results oriented.

  • Leads groups in resolving problems by identifying key issues, inputs, stakeholders, and outcomes.

  • Applies a broad business and functional knowledge base to develop insightful solutions to complex problems.

  • This position requires access to export-controlled commodities, technical data, technology, software, and services governed by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Due to contractual limitations and ITAR obligations associated with this role, U.S. citizenship, U.S. legal permanent resident status, or protected person status under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) is required.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in

US, Washington, California:$182,149.00-$291,365.00

Salary range dependent on a number of factors including location and experience.

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
